Coatesville has always deployed two-way starters in the past. With two/three elite two-way stars moving on to the next level, Jaqwan James is my pick to step into that playmaker role. A prospect who can affect the football game in any three phases. A fantastic punt/kick returner, James has already solidified a return man role dating back to last year when the junior returned multiple kicks back for scores. Offensively, you can likely flirt with the idea of giving James a couple hand-offs per game, yet his presence will be felt at wideout. Can run posts and nines well, will likely hurt defenses in the short game more than anything. Screens, swings, outs, hitches, James is capable of out-pacing DBs in open space. He can make something out of nothing, his sophomore tape proves it. James can also provide quality reps at corner, which is why we designated him as an “ATH”. I expect to be ranking James a bit higher after his junior season comes to an end.

is a good prospect who played as a cornerback and as a slot receiver last year. As a cornerback, he shows good coverage skills. He also does a nice job in run support by coming upfield to make tackles in the open field. James as a wide receiver flashes serious big play ability. He is a threat to score every time he touches the ball. James is good at catching short passes or intermediate passes like in breaking routes. He is then good after the catch at making people miss. James is a legit threat every time he touches the ball. Going into his Junior year he should only get better.
