In an already talented Mountain Point Pride secondary, it was 2025 Defensive Back Jacob Carter Jacob Carter 5'11" | 175 lbs | DB Mountain Pointe | 2025 State AZ who shined last night the most in this unit. Playing mainly out of the slot, he had a couple of tackles for loss on some screenplays as well as an interception downfield, dealing major contract by the offense on the play. He was able to concentrate, track down, and snag the ball out of the air for the turnover, showcasing spectacular agility in the open field along with great ball skills. This Pride defense will continue to need Carter to be a playmaker heading into the postseason.

Finally saw the recruiting attention he deserves this summer pulling in four offers including Cornell, San Diego, Minot State, and Colorado Mines. He’s a high-level instinctual cover guy that has great footwork and technique throughout the play. Stays in-phase at all three levels by smoothly changing directions and accelerating out of his transition to recover and close space. Plus eye discipline to recognize routes and adapt. Effective in both press and off coverage. Strong form tackler after the catch and in run support, breaks down in space and wraps up to the ground. Expect more D1 programs to come through this season.

2025 Defensive Back Jacob Carter Jacob Carter 5'11" | 175 lbs | DB Mountain Pointe | 2025 State AZ is another impressive piece this Mountain Pointe defense has in their secondary. Playing primarily at the cornerback position, his man coverage ability to run stride for stride with receivers is sensational. Notching 4 pass deflections last season for the Pride, he’s looking to be their number 1 lockdown guy on the outside. With great acceleration and change of direction, he can cover anybody he wants. If needed, he can come up and make plays in the run game tackling on the outside with solid wrap up ability. Carter is beginning to receive his first couple of offers, most recently from Cornell.
