About Mekhi
Expert Analysis
Hunter Tierney | Prep Redzone Scout
An unbelievable athlete with burst rarely seen in a player his size, Mekhi is an all-around threat. His footwork is eye-catching — he can sidestep defenders, then use his power and length to break tackles. His ability to transition seamlessly from power to finesse makes him a nightmare to bring down. While his hands are already reliable, they’ll only improve as he gains more experience. He’s long enough to help in the run game, but with his skill set, you’ll likely want the ball in his hands to allow him to rack up yards. There’s a ton to like here, and as he refines his game, watch out for big plays and highlight-reel moments.

has some impressive footwork coming off the edge for Cesar Chavez. He fires off the line of scrimmage and will bait opposing linemen out of position, giving him a free lane to the backfield. At a lean 6’3″ and 215 lbs, he has the speed to work around tackles once he has them out of position but still possesses the strength to deliver hits that running backs will undoubtedly remember long after the whistle blows. Hodge has 4.5 sacks so far through his sophomore season, showing just how effective he can be against top-tier competition.

Strong two-way athlete at WR and DE with great size and frame at 6’3” 215 lbs. entering his sophomore year. He’s a natural athlete with plus body control and coordination to track and adjust to ball flight at WR/TE. His size and strength make him a tough tackle after the catch for secondary defenders. At DE, he flashes great initial quickness off the ball with the ability to beat blockers with his strength or quickness off the edge. Picked up his initial college offer from Arizona State in March and will see more recruiting attention as he’s able to showcase his size and skillset.
