His excellent play helped the Lakota West Firebirds to an 11-win season where they held opposing offenses to 7.9 points per game and advance to the 3rd round of the playoffs. He plays as an OLB. Against the pass, he is very quick off the ball and exhibits excellent closing speed as he quickly finishes up with a sack. Against the run, he quickly reads run/pass and plays with a good motor in pursuit. He displays good explosiveness as he makes the tackle behind the LOS for a TFL.

In 2022, Jacob helped the Lakota West Firebirds to a 13-win season where they held opposing offenses to 10 points per game and advance to the 4th round of the playoffs. he plays as a SS/OLB. Against the run, he quickly keys and diagnoses the play. He takes good angles in pursuit and exhibits very good play strength as he makes the tackle with ease preventing a gain of significant yardage. Against the pass, he quickly penetrates the LOS, uses his quality play strength and physical toughness to disengage from the RB in pass pro and closes quickly before finishing up with a sack.
