One of my favorite quarterbacks in the Raleigh area, Jones might be the most accurate quarterback in the state. He doesn’t always take the long ball, instead taking what the defense gives him. When I did my Wake County Deep Dive to look at the quarterbacks, I re-evaluated him, coming away both impressed and ready to bump him from 74th to 70th.

Jones might have an argument as the best “in-phase” passer in the state. He’s known less for highlight-reel scrambles and throws and more for just being a guy who can deliver with precision and accuracy to all fields with consistency. He’s right around a 70% completion with a 64-to-8 touchdown-to-interception ratio over the last two seasons. That’ll work for college coaches, even if he’s undersized.

Gannon showed why he is considered one of the best DT QBs in the state with his performance against the defending 4a east champs Hoggard. Jones went 9/16 89 yards and a TD passing but also had 116 yards rushing and added another TD on the ground.
