About Eric
Expert Analysis
Avery Hawkins | Prep Redzone Scout
The senior signal caller is getting courted by a lot of D2 programs. Wehrer’s passing has improved tremendously in terms of velocity. He’s become more accurate overall from intermediate to deep passes. I still believe that Eric’s best position is OLB collegiately. Wehrer has forced fumbles, sacked the QB & got TFLs consistently this season.

Eric isn’t terribly quick twitched but he’s very efficient in his movements. Eric showed against Imani Christian that he is able to contribute on special teams on the next level. Wehrer doesn’t give up on plays, & he displayed a good motor in pursuit of the ball. Eric showed more physicality at LB week 3 & forced a fumble one play. EW plays well off of blocks naturally, but he could be more violent engaging & disengaging blockers. Eric has been receiving a lot of D2 interest as of late.

He is overall athlete with versatile talents on the gridiron. On defense he has a good football IQ and is an efficient player. He can blitz off the edge from a 2 point stance or come from the middle. He plays man well from the nickel and zone drops with good play recognition. He is a dual threat QB with good arm strength. He takes what the defense gives him & is decisive. Eric is good using his legs throwing on rollouts. He can throw intermediate routes well from the pocket as well. Eric has been receiving some FCS & D2 interests.
