Freshman RB David Davis David Davis 6'0" | 175 lbs | DB Imani Christian Academy | 2026 State PA had a great game last week against Brentwood in the 36-21 win. Davis picked up his first Power 5 offer from Penn State after the 17/261 yds, 3 TD’s performance where he exhibited elusiveness, burst, & breakaway speed. Defensively Coach Johnson has another FBS recruit in LB Dayshaun Burnett Dayshaun Burnett 6'4" | 220 lbs | LB Imani Christian Academy | 2025 State PA . The Gladiators have a pretty talented D1 recruit themselves in DE Dashawn Carter Dashawn Carter 6'4" | 220 lbs | DL South Allegheny | 2023 State PA . The senior DE has already committed to the Youngstown State Penguins. Below are a couple of other prospects to view in this contest.
Dayshaun is FBS level size & strength. He is good at defeating blocks & getting into the action. Dayshaun moves well laterally already & still has 3 years to keep developing. He is a good blitzer and has the ability to tackle in space with consistency. Dayshaun is also able to play sideline to sideline & brings mayhem with him. Burnett picked up his first offer from Power 5 Penn State this past summer. At 6’3 205 this pup will only get bigger, stronger, faster over the next three seasons.
Highlights
David Davis David Davis 6’0″ | 175 lbs | DB Imani Christian Academy | 2026 State PA is a big-time playmaker for Imani Christian with 4 seasons of HS remaining. That’s right! David is only a freshman & he just picked up his first power 5 offer from Penn State earlier this week. At RB so far this season he has shown the ability to be elusive, & patient allowing his blocks to set up his next move. Davis also displays consistent big play potential with the ball in hand. It will be interesting to watch him throughout the season as he keeps improving & developing in real time. I suspect by the end of the season he will be very dangerous in many facets of the game.
Fred Woodfork
Fred Woodfork
Fred is a very physical, reliable OL/DL. Once he latches on to a defender run blocking he finishes the play. He does need to keep improving his kick sliding, but his strength usually makes up for any of his deficiencies. On defense he plays with a good motor, but could work on his pad level firing out of his stance. Overall Fred has a lot of potential to play on the next level.
Che’Von Allen
Che’Von Allen
Plays bigger than his size on the field. His speed looks to have improved some from his sophomore year to his junior season. Che is a strong physical form tackler in the open field. He has good hips & breaks well on the ball. Allen needs to work on his overall ball skills because his ability will put him in position to defense passes. Che’Von has good foot speed that will continually improve over the next 2 seasons.
Dashawn is very explosive getting off the ball. He is very athletic & plays with great bend around the edge rushing the quarterback. He has violent hands that are great for taking on and shedding blocks. Carter separates people from the football when he makes contact. His shock and shed at DE are truly elite abilities on the high school level. DeShawn is also above average getting pressure on the quarterback and redirecting on run plays. He’s very physical with a great motor.
Highlights
He is overall athlete with versatile talents on the gridiron. On defense he has a good football IQ and is an efficient player. He can blitz off the edge from a 2 point stance or come from the middle. He plays man well from the nickel and zone drops with good play recognition. He is a dual threat QB with good arm strength. He takes what the defense gives him & is decisive. Eric is good using his legs throwing on rollouts. He can throw intermediate routes well from the pocket as well. Eric has been receiving some FCS & D2 interests.
