Blanche is moving through his Senior season as one of the top running backs across northern California, and has been off to a very impressive start to the year for the top team in the north. He is a very explosive and violent runner that has been the lead back for the Spartans for the past two seasons and is in line for another big workload this year. The Portland State commit looks poised for a huge Senior season and had another big night against the Serra Padres, rushing for 182 yards in the Spartans lopsided win.

De La Salle running back Derrick Blanche Derrick Blanche Derrick Blanche 5'8" | 165 lbs | RB De La Salle | 2025 State CA announced his commitment to Portland State omn August 1.

Blanche was the leading rusher for De La Salle in 2023 with 969 yards and 10 touchdowns.

He chose Portland State over four other schools that offered him: Florida Atlantic, Maryland, Nevada, North Texas. Blanche is the first player from California in Portland State’s 2025 recruiting class.
