Anderson is an exciting prospect. He illustrates that during his sophomore highlight video of 2024, when he flashes a broad base of talents. Projection makes matters even more exciting, as there’s plenty of room for growth before Anderson reaches his significant upside. There’s physical and technical development ahead to an already intriguing player who’s producing. It’s difficult containing Anderson due to his combination of quickness and power. He moves well laterally and in a straight line. Anderson plays under control and within the Black Raiders’ scheme. He could help a whole lot of college programs on the interior of their defensive lines and is a potential difference maker on the next level.
Anderson is a large individual. His Hudl page lists him at 6-4, 305. He’s in the 10th grade. That’s uncommon. So is the athleticism with which he plays during his sophomore highlight video. Anderson walls up well at defensive tackle, keeping his head up and eyes on the target. He gets off of blocks and pounces against the run. Anderson plays with good pad level and power.

off of it. He definitely made the cut this time around and with great reason. Anderson flashed a ton of potential as a freshman who wreaked havoc from the interior defensive line. He’s a very powerful player who can use his strong leg drive to force blockers off of their spot. Darrian also showed he’s not just a “bull-rush” guy with his effective use of hands to shed away from blocks. Good mobility and lateral quickness. The Black Raiders are set to be tough in the trenches this season with Darrian looking to play a big part in that.

stood out from our Stock Up showcase in December. Darrian does an excellent job eating up space on the interior defensive line. He can drop his anchor, extend his reach to stonewall offensive linemen, and essentially defend two gaps. Darrian showed he can use violent hands to rip away at attempts to block him. Anderson is also pretty mobile for his size, showing that he can pursue the ball very well and has the motor to trace down ball carriers. Darrian already has a great skillset and should only continue to get better with every offseason.
East boasts a heck of a ’27 class that should help make it a formidable squad in the fall. Anderson likely will move from Watch List to the rankings if he continues improving upon what we can already witness during his freshman film. It’s an impressive package of size and agility that makes him a difficult match up. It helps Anderson separate from blocks and chase down the ball. There’s a lot to like about Anderson’s game with three years of prep football to play.
