Set to take over under center for Cal Jepsen in northwest Iowa, Callan Koch Callan Koch 6'4" | 210 lbs | QB Sioux City East | 2028 State IA has one of the best opportunities for success amongst this group.

Expected to take over for the Black Raiders next fall, Koch will have two of the top three rushers and the top five receivers back from last fall’s squad, including D1 recruits, running back Amos Collins, wide receiver Isaiah Grant Isaiah Grant 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR Sioux City East | 2028 State IA and linebacker Kason Clayborne Kason Clayborne 6'3" | 220 lbs | LB/TE Sioux City East | 2027 State IA , who doubles as a wide out.

Koch, who got some time on varisty last season, completing 28-of-47 passes for 286 yards, four touchdowns and two picks, certainly looks the part, too. Standing at 6-foor-4 and 210 pounds, the soon-to-be junior can throw on the run, launch some darts in the immediate and short passing game and throws a fairly effortless deep ball.

Koch spent the 2025 season developing behind one of the state’s most productive senior signal callers. The sophomore split time between levels within the program. On the varsity, Koch completed 60 percent of his throws for 286 yards (10.2 YPC) and four touchdowns against a pair of interceptions. He added 31 yards (7.8 YPC) on the ground. Koch flashes significant upside when we watch his 10th-grade highlight video. He’s advanced from a physical and technical standpoint with a quick release and strong arm. Koch is comfortable operating from the pocket or on the move. Speed and athleticism make him a threat to tuck the ball and go. He’s dangerous in the open field.
