will lead the Sioux City East offense once again this fall. With more of a fluid motion, Jepsen throws the deep ball with a bit more touch, making for an easily caught ball on shots downfield.
Jepsen shows the ability to make accurate throws on the run, forcing defenses into coverage for longer, allowing his receivers to get open. Though he only took off for ten runs total last season, opposing defenses must be ready for him to run at any time as well, given how well he throws the ball moving to the left or right of the pocket.

The Black Raiders look to be a dark horse in 5A with a great group of returning players, including their starting QB,

. Cal was great leading the offense, recording 2,373 passing yards, 24 touchdowns, a 64% completion rate, and a QBR of 158.5. Cal displays good control of the offense with his ability to lead drives and make smart decisions with the football. He does a good job getting the ball out quickly once he locks in on his target and has good placement on his throws. He can fit the ball into small passing windows, putting good velocity on the ball, and delivers a tight, catchable spiral. Good eye for pressure— Jepsen showed the mobility and footwork to side-step the pass rush or spill out of the pocket to extend the play. Cal currently has an offer from Grand View and will likely grow that list with a strong senior campaign.

showed a considerable amount of growth in his passing mechanics through the 2024 season. Jepsen finished with 2373 passing yards, 24 touchdowns, and only 5 interceptions. A true pro-style QB, Jepsen was one of the most precise passers in Iowa last season, showing some insane accuracy on many of his deep throws, and possessing the footwork, quick reads, and an impressive level of power on his passes with the flick of his wrist. Jepsen heads into his senior season as a top athlete in both football and baseball, and he could see a lot of attention from big schools in both of those areas.

There was a time when college scouts would look at Jepsen’s frame and dismiss his future playing quarterback at the next level. It was a mistake then and remains one now. Jepsen thrives at the position with a quick release, strong arm and excellent accuracy. Those skills resulted in him completing 63.6 percent of his passes for 2,373 yards with 25 touchdown passes against just five interceptions. He’s a super athlete that also shines on the baseball diamond.

showed great progression in his mechanics across the 2024 season which has solidified his spot toward the top of the QB rankings in Iowa for the class of 2026. Jepsen finished with over 2300 passing yards, 24 touchdowns, and only 5 interceptions. His big-play potential has clearly been evident as his accuracy across the season has been almost absurd to watch, hitting on difficult seams, outside throws, and tight windows to the exact points where only his receivers could make the catch. This has helped distinguish Jepsen from other QBs in the state, and as Jepsen continues improving on that ability, his value should continue to increase as he heads into his senior season.
