Senior defensive lineman Dakota Bunz Dakota Bunz 6'2" | 315 lbs | DL Millard South | 2027 State NE looks primed to step into a bigger role for the defending back-to-back champions. Dakota flashed as a junior after recording 13 tackles, seven TFLs, and a half sack. At 6’2″ and 315 pounds, Dakota projects very well as an interior space eater on the defensive line who can shut down inside run schemes and collapse pocket. He is very strong with a powerful anchor that keeps him from giving up ground, even when taking on double teams, and he can drive blockers off the ball at will. Dakota’s mobility is very underrated for his size, as he does a great job of firing off the ball with explosiveness from his stance and a quick first step. His hands land heavy and with good placement, helping Dakota gain inside leverage over his opponent. Bunz’s lateral quickness was also impressive on tape, as he displayed great hustle to the ball, which led to his double-digit TFL total last season. Even if the stat sheet didn’t always show it, Dakota’s presence on the field was always a concern for opposing offensive linemen. Big season loading for Dakota!
