Although he’s remained strong on his pledge to the Huskers, that hasn’t stopped other programs from attempting to pry Ellis with a recent offer from South Florida. During his junior year at Crowley (TX), Ellis recorded 65 receptions, 808 receiving yards, and nine touchdowns in Texas 6A.

Ellis has already solidified himself as one of the top receivers in the entire country for the class of 2027. In week one, he wasted no time proving why, scoring two touchdowns while flashing elite traits: blazing speed, excellent footwork, strong hands, and an impressive catch radius. He can stretch the field vertically but is just as dangerous on underneath routes thanks to his ability to make defenders miss. Defensive coordinators will have their hands full trying to slow him down.

Ellis is an explosive deep threat who excels at taking the top off of defenses with his stellar straight-line speed. The outside speedster possesses a strong frame and displays quick feet and a twitchy release at the line of scrimmage. “Tay” also does a great job of tracking deep balls and using his body balance control to adjust and reel them in. With strong hands and loose hips, Ellis serves as a threat on all levels for the Eagles’ offense. Tay was already electric and productive during his sophomore campaign, accounting for 800 yards and 11 touchdowns. Ellis has already built a deep offer list, which includes Ohio State, Texas, and Miami. Expect him to continue to grow as a national star at the wideout position this season.

Having another standout game for Crowley, Ellis was able to get 144 yards and 2 touchdowns on only 7 receptions. His ability to speed and run past defenders, and to create his own space while being covered, making the catch, and still get the touchdown are just some of what we are looking more for the rest of the season.

Ellis is one the best players in the country and he is a player who makes plays when he gets his hands on the football. He has elite quickness in space, he is explosive off of the line of scrimmage and he has the burst out of his breaks that enables him to create separation from defenders. He has elite hands with an extended reach and he tracks the ball well in flight. His ability to make the over the shoulder catch on the fade ball makes him a deep ball weapon. Ellis has superb body control that enables to win on the 50/50 balls consistently. He is one of the top recruits nationally in the 2027 class. Tennessee, Oregon, Arizona, Pittsburgh, Washington, as well as Texas have extended offers. He is the type of player that you want to see in person.

He is explosive off the line, he has elite quickness in space and when he gets in the open field he excels at making plays after the catch. Ellis has the top end speed to stretch the field but he has the skill set to work the short to intermediate routes and turn a short slant into a quick six. Antayvious has strong, reliable hands and he uses his body well to make grabs in heavy traffic. Ellis is an explosive leaper who plays above the rim and has the ability to win at the 50/50 contested balls. His phenomenal freshman season, 36 catches for 737 yards and 6 touchdowns was just the beginning, expect him to continue to light up defenses in 2024. Ellis has double digit offers from the likes of Houston, Baylor, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Arkansas and Arizona State.
