We’ve mentioned this before but it deserves to be mentioned more. Choctaw has become one of the top programs in the state at developing next level defensive backs. Senior cornerback Da’Jon Green Da’Jon Green 6'1" | DB Choctaw | 2026 State OK is the next example of that. Green started to really see his recruitment take off a little over a year ago and it hasn’t slowed down. He had a terrific junior season and it will be interesting to see how he uses the momentum he has to continue to grow. Every time we’ve seen Green in person this offseason, he’s immediately passed the eye test. He has the ability to absolutely lock down a side of the field and is an incredibly physical cornerback on this Choctaw defense.

Choctaw cornerback Da’Jon Green Da’Jon Green 6'1" | DB Choctaw | 2026 State OK was a prospect in the 2026 class that started popping up on a lot of radars around this time last year. Choctaw is no stranger to producing defensive backs at a very high level over the last five years and it appears that Green is the next guy up from that group. In fact, the Yellowjackets have a few names returning on the defensive side of the ball that make them a very interesting team to follow in 2025. For Green, his recruitment really started to take off around this time last year and it hasn’t really slowed down. Green is a lockdown player that has shown steady improvement and continues to have his best football ahead of him.

We’ve mentioned this in the past but Choctaw has definitely become one of those programs that seem to always have a guy (or two or three) in the secondary that will end up playing at the next level. This offseason, the guy that emerged as the next big name in this program was Da’Jon Green Da’Jon Green 6'1" | DB Choctaw | 2026 State OK and colleges started to notice him as well. This season, Green has backed up all that offseason hype with some outstanding play at the cornerback position. There aren’t many teams that have tested Green but the ones that have, it hasn’t worked out so well for them. Green has played a lot of cornerback but we’ve also caught him at safety and making plays in run support. Similar to Malaska, Green has been in the weight room and it definitely shows with some of the hits he’s had.

Choctaw is quickly gaining the reputation of putting out and producing some really good prospects on the defensive side of the ball and specifically in the secondary. Junior Da’Jon Green Da’Jon Green 6'1" | DB Choctaw | 2026 State OK is the next guy up from a secondary perspective. There is no doubt that Green has the potential to be that guy for the Yellowjackets at the cornerback position and he’s starting to really elevate his game to match that potential that Choctaw’s coaches see in him. This spring, Green’s recruitment started to take off and it should only continue this fall with a strong junior season. Green might still be hiding under the radar in the 2026 class but not for long.

Choctaw defensive back Da’Jon Green Da’Jon Green 6'1" | DB Choctaw | 2026 State OK is in a very similar boat to Gaines at Union. Just like with Union, Choctaw has had a really good run recently of producing defensive backs and Green is the next one that coaches are excited about. And Green has a lot of momentum going right now as we head into the summer and eventually his junior season. He had a strong spring and starting earning the attention of college coaches with his first D1 offer recently. That should be the first of many as long as he continues to progress and improve his game. There’s a high ceiling here with him and we’re excited to see more this fall.

Choctaw has had a solid run recently of producing hybrid-like defenders in the secondary that bring a lot of versatility and can be moved around. The latest example of that is 2026 DB Da’Jon Green Da’Jon Green 6'1" | DB Choctaw | 2026 State OK and he’ll be playing for the Okie Takeover squad this weekend. Green is very impressive physically and that fits the mold of what Choctaw has produced over the last five years. Green is comfortable in a lot of positions because of his size and overall athleticism. He’s going to be one of Okie Takeover’s top prospects during this weekend’s tourney.
