is in a similar position to Hammons where he’s seen his recruitment absolutely blow up this offseason. The list of offers is getting incredibly long and it’s easy to see why. Hawk was one of the best players on the field during that state championship victory over Muskogee. And as we head into the 2025 season, Hawk is going to be the leading returning receiver in the Choctaw offense. And it’s clear that Hawk and Gatson already have the connection in that passing game. Hawk was tied for the lead with seven touchdown catches a year ago. A couple years ago, Hawk was listed as a quarterback to watch but now he’s arguably the top tight end in the state.

could be in that same discussion with Hackett as the hottest prospect in the state, regardless of class. It seems like Hawk’s recruitment has absolutely exploded in the last six months. He’s picking up offer after offer and early in his high school career, he looked like a no doubt baseball prospect. And while he’s still one of the better baseball players in the state, he’s getting offered by all the major programs around the country. It will be interesting to see how the baseball VS football debate goes or if there is even a debate. The last two times we’ve watched Hawk in person was the state title game and team camp. In both instances, he was one of the more dominant players on the field. He’s a size mismatch and incredibly strong after the catch

out of Choctaw. Specifically, it feels like every day that Hawk is picking up another P4 offer and we’re talking about some offers from the blue bloods in college football. Hawk has always intrigued us from a size standpoint but we also know he’s solid on the baseball diamond. Early on in his career he was thought of as a quarterback but it is clear that he has a future as a tight end. And the last time we saw this Choctaw standout on the gridiron, he was having a really strong performance in the state championship game. He caught what ended up being the game-winning touchdown to help the Yellowjackets capture their first state title in decades. Hawk has absolutely exploded as a prospect and that’s a big reason why he’s jumped into the top ten.

and he brings a ton of versatility to the football field. Listed at 6’7, Hawk is a hard prospect to miss and he’s definitely a name to know moving forward for a couple sports. He’s also a standout for Choctaw in baseball. On the football field, Hawk first got on our radar when he was listed as a quarterback. He’s now listed as a tight end and gives the Yellowjackets a massive target in the passing game. He’s a terrific athlete that has a high ceiling and while it looks like his future as a prospect could be as a tight end, we’re not closing the book on him possibly moving around to other spots on the gridiron. And don’t overlook his work in baseball.

first got on our radar as a quarterback prior to last season. But the Choctaw depth chart is absolutely stacked at quarterback right now. So Hawk has had to move around and play different positions in order to get on the field. And Hawk has done a great job of becoming a solid option on offense. Whether you consider him a tight end or a hybrid between tight end and wide receiver, Hawk gives the Yellowjackets a major target in the passing game. His 6’6 frame is hard to miss and he has the potential to be another breakout player for Choctaw this fall, similar to Hammons.

Choctaw has a similar situation to Bixby where they have multiple guys on the depth chart that you can make an argument to crack the starting lineup or get significant playing time. The youngest is freshman

and physically, he certainly looks the part. Hawk stands around 6’5 or 6’6 and has an absolute rocket attached to his shoulder. Hawk truly fits the “Next Up” moniker heading into 2024.

when he’s on the football field. He’s listed at 6’6 on the roster and towers over some of the other players on the field, including his offensive linemen. Hawk has seen some limited playing time on the varsity level but he did impress a few weeks ago in a blowout win over Capitol Hill. He went 3-4 for 59 yards and a pair of touchdowns. We don’t know much about Hawk on the football field but we do know that he’s already a standout on the baseball diamond. Choctaw is no stranger to having prospects that shine bright in both baseball and football. And they have a few of them at quarterback this year. Hawk is a name to know moving forward.
