Corey is a big body X WR with size & athleticism who made a big jump in production this fall from his freshman year. That is why he made a big jump up to the #2 overall WR and an almost 40 spot overall jump in the 2028 rankings.
Using his size to his advantage well, Corey is a vertical threat who can get over top of defenders to make a big catch. A wide receiver who has both improved his hands and route running this year, Corey has made strides in becoming a dominant split out target. He is a good overall athlete with a long stride and a good leaper. Hard to stop once he gets going and tough to bring down. Corey shows good body control when adjusting to the pass, big strong hands, and also is a plus blocker at the WR position.
Already holding more than a handful of P4 offers and more to come. Corey has plenty of untapped potential to still tap into to go along with his size & athleticism. Look for him to put up even bigger numbers his junior year.
Sophomore year full season tape!!

Corey Smith played sparingly as a freshman, but has been a consistent big play threat for GC this year.
He’s a big body X receiver who will stretch the field. He has nice body control and strong hands, and he’s a plus blocker at the WR position as well.
He just picked up his 4th P4 offer from Nebraska the other week.

Smith already has P4 schools showing serious interest in him. Syracuse, Boston College, UMass, Toledo, and Virginia Tech are among his early offers. He has a long, athletic frame, ideal for high-pointing and shielding defenders. There are a few highlights of his blocking, showing him to be physical and effective. Smith shows reliable hands and good footwork on short-to-intermediate routes. His freshman-year highlights are limited, and there’s not much there to evaluate his top-end speed. Despite that, P4 schools are impressed with his size and his potential to develop into one of the top receivers in the region.
