. It was the arm strength that separated him from the crowd while throwing against air and in 1 v 1 battles. Collin does a really good job of using that 6’1″ 195 lbs frame to create velocity on his passes. It was his deep pass reps that were Collin’s best of the day. He could carry the zip on the ball all the way to the receiver. The ball comes out of a high release point, and the reps I was able to watch flashed the type of accuracy needed to play at the next level.
Collin also did well during the combine portion of the day. He ran a 4.72 40, 4.63 shuttle, 7.66 L-Drill, and an 8’2″ broad jump. The ’27 QB is coming off a 7-3 season that was the best record for WBW since 1982 and their first playoff appearance since 2010. Big things ahead for the 2027 QB.

Collin sure looked the part of a next level QB with his 6’3″ 200 lbs frame. He was one of the bigger athletes at the position and the junior flashed an arm that matched the big frame. The further downfield Collin threw to the better it looked. His big arm can drive the ball into spots downfield on a rope if needed. It was impressive watching him be able to get his body behind the ball and use it to create velocity on the ball. Collin’s performance earned him a spot in the Best vs Best reps to end the day. West Bend West has a talented roster, and the starting QB is one of the reasons to stop in at the school this offseason.

I’m excited to see what Collin does in 2025. Based on the stats it looks like Grass split time this past season with a senior QB. In that time the 2027 QB still was able to produce 745 yards, and 6 TDs to 1 INT in 9 games. If Collin returns as the lone starter in 2025 we could see him handle another 100+ pass attempts through the first 9 games.
It would be great to see him double his workload and double his chances at creating big plays to the WBW offense. The ’27 signal caller was used on a lot of rollouts where he clearly is comfortable delivering accurate passes. That scenario also allowed him to tuck it and run and show off the dual threat he can bring to the field. I’m excited to see the talented QB take over the job in 2025.

A 2027 who came out and made a name for himself is Collin Grass. The 6’2″ 190 lbs sophomore was one of the athletes who impressed me with his frame during warm ups of Session 2. The underclassman has already built up a prototypical frame that should only continue to grow and get stronger over the coming years. Collin’s best trait right now is his arm strength. He can easily place the ball 30+ yards downfield on a rope and doesn’t need his feet set to get velocity into the ball. Where he is going to make the biggest stride over this next year or two is his mechanics and accuracy. He is still getting comfortable at his current size and as that improves so will the consistency in his mechanics which will boost his accuracy further. The tools are all there for the talented 2027 QB. I’m excited to watch him continue towards putting it all together.
