Bishop is an undersized LB, but he was back bigger and better than ever at the PRZ WI Showcase. Bishop checked in at 5’10” 200 lbs and blew away the combine. 4.91 40, 4.09 shuttle, 9′ broad jump, and a 7.05 L-Drill. Bishop is outstanding winning with his explosive burst and short area athleticism. The way he can change direction and accelerate is not common for the LB position. Bishop is able to run tight to RBs through routes because of his short area athleticism. His body control to be able to execute those tight quarter moves. Bishop fits best as a LB/S hybrid and he has the athleticism to be able to win on third down and also move through traffic vs the run. Don’t sleep on the LB.

I love these showcase settings for watching LBs. Usually a lot of HS LB tape is loaded up with downhill, run stuffing plays or getting after the QB. A lot of plays of kids coming downhill, on the attack. But to be a next level LB you also need to prove that you can play in space and show that you can drop into coverage or run with an RB/TE. Sunday gave us those looks, and Bishop was quick to stand out from the crowd.
His athleticism allowed him to play comfortably in space. He has the lateral agility, burst, and balance that helped him shine in the 1 on 1 drills that had them simulating open field tackles vs RBs catching swing passes. Once we started going 1 on 1 with more wide open route options, Bishop again stood out. This time it was because of his acceleration and speed to be able to run downfield with RBs. Also he made several plays with his closing burst and timing with his hands to break up passes. Stoltz did well showing that he can be an asset when it comes to playing in space, earning him MVP honors.

. The 5’9″ 170 lbs athlete has a 6’2.25″ wingspan with 10″ hands. He ran a 4.60 shuttle, and a 7.34 L-Drill along with a 8’8″ broad jump. I’m very interested to see how the ’27 continues to grow and develop his game. He is coming off a season where he was a key contributor on varsity at LB where he was able to make an impact with his quickness through the front seven and into the backfield to make tackles. Bishop has gotten very good at avoiding traffic while attacking the ball and looks comfortable when he has to play out in space like he did at the Showcase in Oak Creek.
