One of the best non-varsity players in Minnesota last fall in 2024, Minnetonka’s standout WR Cody Braun Cody Braun 6'0" | 175 lbs | WR Minnetonka | 2027 State MN is due for a rankings bump. Thanks to sharing a graduating year with the Skippers stud QB Caden Gutzmer, as well as a knack for the big play and standout athleticism for his age, Braun has some great chemistry with his now-QB1, and he’s one of a handful of deep threats crammed into the Skippers WR room in 2025. So far, the 2025 Breakout Star has posted 7 catches for 127 yards and 2 TDs, as well as 12 tackles, a TFL, 2 PBUs, and an interception defensively, and it seems like the junior and first-year varsity starter is really starting to find his groove.

The 2025 game film shows off a wideout with game-breaking burst, both from a start/stop position after the catch or with the ball in his hands, as well as out of his breaks as a DB in coverage. I love his man-coverage ability out of the slot as the high safety as well. Braun looks patient, is aware of where the sticks are as well as where and when a WR is likely to break, and is lightning out of his breaks. Also physical at the catch point and will put his body on the line to get the ball. As a wideout, Braun breaks his routes off well and is effective at creating separation at the top of the route and is also lethal in the open field, see his TD catch against East Ridge for poignant evidence.
