. Burckhardt emerged as a breakout in 2024, finishing 3rd in the conference in receiving yards (656) and scoring 7 touchdowns, while averaging 19.9 yards per reception. A talented outside WR who has multiple ways of winning 1-on-1 coverage, whether by burning defenders on go-routes, sharp cuts on his routes, and with his impressive body-control and ball-tracking skills that allowed him to make some stunning catches last year. A multi-faceted player on the offense, Burckhardt also proved valuable as a jet-sweep runner and as a tough blocker in the run-game. Burckhardt has the traits to develop into becoming a great WR at the next level, and his presence on Orono’s offense will be vital toward maintaining their strong performances over the last few years.

Burckhardt was the most complete underclassmen receiver I saw in 2024. He has good length and uses it well – especially with him not shy about extending his body in traffic for a ball. He is explosive off the line of scrimmage and is tough to press. A good route runner, he can go from 60 miles per hour to zero in just a couple of steps – making him great on comeback routes and hook routes. He is an asset in the running game, too. He is a physical blocker on the outside. A two-way player, Burckhardt shows great heart – and speed – running down sure touchdowns from behind as a defensive back. He has on tape, multiple times where he ran ball carriers down from twenty yards behind.

Burckhardt was the most impressive player without a DI scholarship offer. He caught a deep ball down the sidelines on fourth and one to set up his team inside the ten. Then, the junior caught a fade on a third and long. He made a leaping catch as he was drawing an interference flag for 30 yards. The junior then caught an eight-yard touchdown on a crossing route. On defense, he stopped the Lions’ last chance to get back into the game with an interception in the end zone. He returned the pick for thirty yards. Later, in coverage, he got his hand on a pass to force an incompletion. Burckhardt saved his best for last. In the fourth quarter, he made a diving catch for thirty-five yards on a ball that was overthrown.
