We have Carter ranked as a DL after he spent his junior year playing primarily DE for Edgewood. This season the big athlete is playing primarily TE, and the film, plus position versatility should excite the next level. Carter has a good base of athleticism to go with his 6’4″ 220 lbs frame. The hands are impressive. He makes catches outside his frame look easy. Carter uses his size to box out or high point the ball over DBs. The hands are reliable enough to make catches in traffic also. Carter is very raw at the position, but he has a lot of talent to work with. The Edgewood product is a hidden gem.

brings the prototypical frame for a DE. He is 6’4″ 220 lbs with tons of room to continue to fill out. The long, lean edge defender demonstrates a next level burst and first step quickness. He also has the closing speed to really wreck havoc in the backfield. Carter also has the balance and lateral agility to be able to make OL miss as they attempt to kick him out on the edge. Carter is just scratching the surface right now. He is raw in terms of pass rush moves, so as he is coached up on the technical side of the position we will see a big jump from the talented prospect. Give his tape a look.

Despite being #58 overall, and #8 at his position I might still be sleeping on the Edgewood DE/Edge defender. Carter is on the verge of a monster breakout. I recommend getting to know his name now before it happens. Carter is a long, lean edge defender that is just scratching the surface on his potential. The 6’4″ 220 lbs junior holds D1 interest, but no offers from any level, yet. Carter is very athletic for the position, and looks at home when on the edge and in space stopping the outside running game. He is able to maneuver, slide, and juke laterally with ease. Carter also possesses an explosive first step that allows him to close the cushion and then transitions it into power. I’m excited to see him develop consistent pass rush moves to maximize his agility and strength.
