Wells has a good first step, can disengage and shed in space and wraps up as a run defender. He also flashes good anchor strength at the point of attack. Although he can get knocked back, he can recover, stick his feet in the ground, use his length and shed to make open-field tackles. Keep an eye on his develepment as a Class of 2028 prospect.

Wells was able to get some valuable varsity playing time as a sophomore. He’s a big-bodied space-eater. He plays with good pad level and has a good anchor. After initial contact he plays with a good motor. He does a great job of pursuing the ball down the line or up field. If he can continue to get stronger and more violent, he’s going to be a handful.
