I had the chance to see Nile play against an uber talented St. Xavier defense in the playoffs and came away very impressed. He may not be the biggest quarterback, but he’s an extremely tough quarterback physically and mentally. The showcase checked the same boxes. His mechanics are sound and he’s very accurate. He put his throws on receivers all day. Playing in an offense like Lakota East suits his strengths perfectly. Spreading out defenses finding the open man and putting the ball on them. I could see him starting to get interest this offseason and have that lead into a strong junior season and contact season.

is a starting quarterback for Lakota East. He was a starter as a sophomore, and the 5-foot-11, 182-pound prospect really shined. A strong quarterback who can make plays with his legs and be very mobile and effectively throw on the move, Knutson has a quick release, good trigger, accurate deep arm and can hit receivers in stride. He led the conference in both completion percentage and completions, led the conference in passing yards and had 22 passing touchdowns. As a junior-to-be, he flashes plenty of upside.

I was really impressed with the sophomore quarterback for the Thunderhawks . Knutson was in command of the offense all night long. I don’t remember any delay of game or pre-snap penalties for the East offense. When the ball was snapped, he did a good job of getting through his reads and making the correct throws. He was unafraid to attack the defense and throw into small windows. Nile made throws to all three levels. The arm talent is also really impressive. He has a very live arm and is able to throw from different arm slots as needed. He can make the throw from the pocket, but he also used his legs to extend plays and make throws on the run. Pretty high-level stuff for a young quarterback in his first season starting varsity. I’m very excited see how Knutson continues to grow and develop as a passer.
