Southwest Ohio Studs: Top Underclassmen to Watch

There aren't any camps and not many games to attend right now, but that doesn't mean we at Prep Red Zone are sitting on our hands. On the contrary, we are hard at work. All throughout the summer, we'll be taking a look at some top returning starters and young prospects who will make a big impact as the season rolls around this fall, spotlighting several prospects. Here is our summer scouting notebook, spotlighting four players in southwest Ohio.    [player_tooltip player_id='2249877' first='Bentley' last='Heckman'] is a receiver for Tippecanoe High School. Heckman is a solid wideout who can make initial defenders miss after the catch. He is also very effective on kick returns, shifty and with very good change-of-direction. Heckman is likely an inside receiver at the next level, but he has time to improve, grow and get better over the next two seasons.     Zyohn Gillespie is a starting Class of 2027 cornerback and receiver for Purcell Marian. Giled to be a lespie has great change-of-direction with the ball in his hands. He can take handoffs to the house, and has enough top-end speed and vision to be a home-run threat. Gillespie also flashes solid skills as a cornerback. His college fit is likely on offense.     [player_tooltip player_id='2107086' first='Cameron' last='Wells'] is a starting tight end for Lakota East. Based on TE film view at camp, has good burst and take-off at the line of scrimmage. Good use-of-hands with great downfield release and good first-step quickness. Effective at using his hands to create separation. Probably a more natural fit at linebacker/long snapper.     We got to see Archbishop Moeller offensive tackle [player_tooltip player_id='1602663' first='Patrick' last='O'Brien'] last year in the season opener against Mount Carmel. O'Brien gave Purdue his verbal commitment, and the Boilers are getting a big and athletic offensive lineman who is a mauler in the run game. I love his effort and physicality. He drives defenders off the ball, possesses good hand timing and latch, and is a very good second-level run blocker who can fire forward to the second level.
