Cal and Monona Grove had a tough battle last Friday night vs Sun Prairie East. Woerth was up to the challenge, providing his offense with some explosive plays. His long TD reception highlighted his speed and second gear to pull away in the open field. Cal flashed the natural hands to pluck the ball out of the air in stride or in traffic. The Monona Grove WR is a legitimate hidden gem. Check out the film linked below.

Cal put up a big day in Monona Grove’s 37-7 win over Janesville Parker. The 6’1″ 160 lbs WR spent Thursday night taking the top off the Parker defense with his speed. On both TD receptions, Cal was able to stack his CB quickly, track the ball, secure the catch, and pull away in the open field. MG also targeted on a couple quick passes and let Cal make plays after the catch. It was a hot start for a senior WR that is sure to put up big numbers this fall. Check out the film from Week 1.

. The 6’1″ 160 lbs WR will need time to add some bulk at the next level, but his current size hasn’t affected his ability to take over games out wide. Cal’s longer frame gives his QB a solid target area. Cal stands out with his route running also. His body control and balance is a strength to his game that gives him the ability to carry a lot of speed through his route breaks. That leads to Cal having plenty of separation from the CB. Cal also brings 11.02 100M track speed to the field and it shows up as he stretches the field. His ability to track the ball in flight looks natural as well. Cal is a well rounded weapon that just needs time to fill out his frame. He is a WR to have on your radar.

Stats: 4 Receptions, 120 Yards, 2 TDs, 60 Punt Return YardsrnThe junior WR out of Monona Grove has continued his strong season since I covered one of hisgames in person early this season. In Week 7 Cal really demonstrated his big play threat. The rising junior is elusive with the ball after the catch and as a punt returner. He sees the field, sets up blocks, and has the speed to pick up massive chunks of yards. Woerth is just as dangerous before the catch as he is after. No question, Cal can take the top off the defense, and demonstrated it a couple times in Week 7. He tracks the ball easily, and the hands are very reliable, even while making in traffic catches.

. The 6’1″ 155 lbs junior looked the part of an up and coming WR prospect. He consistently showed off the ability to get open with sudden route running. He tracked the ball in the air very well, and adjusted to it with ease. After the catch he plays with good agility to make DBs miss. It also stood out coming into the game how well he does against zone coverage. His awareness in those scenarios allows him to find the soft spots for easy targets. It was a solid night for the junior. The Cal-Cal connection between QB-WR should be a fun one to watch the next couple seasons.
