Expert Analysis
Ryan Wesley | Prep Redzone Scout
Branham is a powerful linebacker with a well-rounded set of skills that make him a prospect with significant upside. Even though his team did not come away with the win on Friday night, Branham had an excellent showing that included a well-played interception that allowed him to show off his talents as a coverage defender. The hard-hitting linebacker has been a consistent playmaker these last two seasons, reinforcing his value as a legitimate college prospect.

The heart of the Ponderosa defense, Mr. Branham was certainly not the reason that the Mustangs got the breaks beat off of them in the 49-7 blowout loss to rivals Legend. Instead, the ballhawking linebacker who seems to be in on every single play showcased his tremendous balance in the loss against the Titans in stopping the run and also partaking in pass coverage. The senior is already en route to a dominating senior season, and he could very well be on his way to being one of the top middle linebackers that the state of Colorado has to offer by the time the season concludes.
Not a bad showing against chap. Team came up big in the second half and got it done 42-14! Came away with 13 tackles 2 TFL and one reception for 17 yards! @_pondofootball @JaronCohen1 @PlaymakerCorner @PrepRedzoneCO https://t.co/Tw9RwPVqkV

Branham was a bright spot in the loss against the Titans. Accounted for 18 total tackles (10 assisted, 8 solo) and 2 tackle for a loss. Branham was all over the space making plays, He was consistently in the backfield applying pressure on the QB or always near the ball.

Branham will be a player to watch this year as he is a backer that has good hands and is able to shed blocks quickly to get to the ball carrier. Branham shows good vision and has good play recognition getting out of his stance and making plays behind the line of scrimmage. He is a player that has a knack for being around the ball and came up with a couple of interceptions as well this year, showing off his hands. He shows that ability to be a backer that can play sideline to sideline and can cover most TE’s and RB’s out of the backfield. Branham should be a key piece for the Mustangs on defense and will turn some heads with the way he makes plays consistently.

Branham has started the offseason with a bang, snagging the MVP title for the linebacker group at the Prep Redzone Stock UP Showcase in California. He does a fantastic job flying downhill and closing the distance to the ball carrier before securing the tackle and finishing the play. His lateral movements and ability to change direction on a dime are nothing less than impressive. Branham has the size, skill, and mental fortitude required to be a top-tier player with a significantly high ceiling.
