On the other side of Blackstad along the defensive LOS for Mankato West comes our next Top Newcomer in 6’2, 230 lber. Austin Nommensen Austin Nommensen Austin Nommensen 6'2" | 225 lbs | DL Mankato West | 2025 State MN . The DE comes in as our #59 overall prospect in the latest 2025 update and was another major contributor to the Scarlets‘ deep run at the 5A state championship last fall. The 5T gets into opponent’s backfields quickly and forcefully, can fight and work through blocks to hold his gap, and shows off a bit of lateral agility and bend that can beat OTs to their outside shoulder. Nommensen is a strong kid who can impact the run and pass games with equal effect. I would not want to line up against Mankato West in the trenches during the 2023 season.
