Despite some stiff competition, there was no question who the TE of the day was, and Joy left with MVP honors and an offer from Olivet Nazarene. The frame is there, the hands are there, the skill and movement is there. There’s really no weakness to his game right now. He came down with some extremely difficult catches and fought through some extremely physical coverage. Joy has continued to get better in every area, and it showed on Saturday. Great day that has gave his stock another bump in the right direction, and I will be dropping his name to anyone that will listen.

Arguably the top tight end signed up so far for the camp. Atticus is a 6’4″ versatile tight end with a wide catch radius. He is also a solid in line blocker with good foot speed to execute a variety of blocks. I’m excited to see him go through the agility drills and I will be paying special attention to his route running and his ability to gain separation against live defensive backs.

Atticus has really started filling out, and plays a bit of a hybrid role. He can line up tight to the line and block and release up the seam with the best of them, but has no problem splitting out and running some more difficult routes. He has great ball tracking and the ability to high point the ball and pluck it from the air. He absorbs contact well and can typically fall forward for extra yardage. I think he’s the most traditional TE on this list, but is very productive and can be an absolute weapon at the next level.

All signs point toward Okemos taking another step forward. A big part of that will be Tight End

This is a verified 6’5″ 220lb Tight End (SMSB Camp Verified). Through my couple of in-person viewings, it’s apparent that Atticus is quickly developing his route running and hands. He’s still a touch inconsistent, but all of the tools are there. Another full season will help Atticus’ skills tremendously.
Like the above evaluation, I feel that Atticus’ game would explode with a bit better athleticism. Some more time in the weight room and some speed work should help Atticus be a better college prospect.
Atticus is a super traits-heavy Tight End who has shown flashes. Expecting a big season from him.

- Passes the eye test
- Moves pretty well. Should polish routes and take steps forward as an athlete, but still moves much better than a lot of 6’4″ athletes
- Made a few good plays at DeWitt showcase. I know coaches were extremely impressed with the TE group.
- Looking forward to potentially seeing physicality on tape this year
- Also looking to see a better catch radius and body control

Some prospects you just need to watch in person.
Mainly, it was the eye test. Atticus has the size to become an elite Tight End. He’s a true 6’4″, and he’s starting to fill out his frame. Athletically, he’s not quite there yet, but he’s also not raw. The same applies to most aspects of his game. As a receiver, if Atticus can take a step forward when it comes to change of direction, route running, speed, and hands, he’ll be a legit college prospect.
I know I was quite general here. Though that was my takeaway. Atticus has the tools, he just needs to make the most of the next 365 days.

Good run blocker but flashes some good hands and ability to make acrobatic grabs over the middle of the field. Good body adjustment, comes down with the ball, good hands in traffic. Flashes a mean streak in the run game. Could add some bulk.

- Ideal size for a high school Tight End
- Works with Rising Stars
- Good possession target
- A few lightly contested catches
- Should work on contact balance, speed
- Likely will get a high volume of targets again next season

Atticus is at a school that hasn’t been recruited much but I think he is going to make his name known in 2025. I hope to see him get out to some camps this spring so I can evaluate him in person, but from what I see on film I love where he’s at. To start, the size is obvious. He uses that size to his advantage as he can line up tight to the formation and absolutely maul defenders, earning multiple pancakes on his highlight tape. He’s also a solid pass catcher as he uses his frame to box defenders out and really body up smaller players. Even on poorly thrown balls, it’s hard to throw outside of his catch radius. I am loving what I am seeing from this rising TE.

Watch Atticus’s tape, and you’ll immediately see that he’s not lying about his size. This is a tall, lengthy tight end with a ton of upside. Last season, he was a solid possession target who did his best to make things happen after the catch. Most of the time, he wasn’t able to get much done, but the effort was there. It’s also of note that Atticus had a few good contested catches. As for blocking, there isn’t much to go off of, but I do think that he lines up in-line.
Okemos is obviously not the most highly-touted program in the state, but I still hope that Atticus is able to reach his sky-high potential. With a breakout season, he could earn Division 1 offers, though my gut tells me he’ll need one more amazing offseason.
