Amar’e Roney Amar’e Roney 6'0" | 170 lbs | DB Owensboro | 2027 State KY is another member of the Owensboro defense who stood out in their win this past weekend. Roney lined up at safety where he did a great job in coverage. He showed the ability to read route combinations and flow through the secondary to put himself in position to make a play. When the ball was thrown in his direction, he showed impressive reaction ability and ball skills, coming away with one interception while also breaking up two passes. He also showed the ability to fill the lane to provide support against the run, finishing the game with nine tackles and two tackles for loss. Roney also recovered a fumble in the win. Amar’e should be a player who college coaches have on their radar this offseason.
