About Aidan

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Best way is describe me is to quote DC John Montali just did on X about me: ‘ First time on the defensive side of the ball and thrived. Kids a ball-hawk with great speed and hands. Superb instincts with the ability to change a game!’

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Hungry, team first, and always having fun. I played club soccer for 9 years, and made the freshman soccer team in high school. However, ever since elementary school I desparately wanted to play football. Once I started high school my parents finally gave their permission and I joined the freshman football team as a wide receiver. Football was a revelation, and now my primary sport.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Black Student Union, Fellowship of Christian Athletes

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

That leadership is not just being loud it is about supporting your teammates through set backs as well as successes, sacrificing for the team, providing moments to ease the tension, and being committed to learning everyday.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I am working hard not only on the field but also in the classroom. In December 2024, I was diagnosed with inattentive ADHD, and I am now receiving the support and accommodations which will assist me in improving my academic standing. I have a passion for kinesiology. One of my goals is to become a member of the training staff on a professional sports team.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a school that can help me realize my dreams in athletics and academics.

Smith-McGlynn is an under-the-radar defensive back out of Cathedral Catholic. He flashed some promising instincts and playmaking at CB as a junior and could be a prospect on the rise coming into his senior season this fall. Smith-McGlynn, who’s also a standout in track, should be among the top testers at the camp with the natural speed and athleticism he brings to the table.
