Johnson won nearly all the 1-on-1 reps I saw him take and has excellent body control near the sidelines. He runs great routes and is light on his feet.

Johnson was on campus to see Minnesota play Nevada in mid-September. The Gophers are the only current Big-10 offer for the 6’/185 junior and are the first to get a gameday visit this season. Johnson’s one of the elite two-way athletes in San Diego’s 2026 class- he posted over 1,100 total yards and 16 TDs on offense and 62 tackles with 3 INTs on defense for St. Augustine last season. Johnson holds other offers from Washington St., UNLV, San Diego St., Arizona, and Colorado St.

Johnson was a highly impactful, all-purpose playmaker for one of the youngest and most talented teams in San Diego last season. The sophomore totaled over 1,100 yards and 16 TDs (10 rec., 5 rush) on offense and 62 tackles and 3 INTs in the secondary. He’s a technical route-runner out of the slot that can separate with quick-twitch and fast feet at the breakpoint and is a constant threat to produce explosive plays with the ball in his hands. He shows his fluid speed chewing up space downhill from his S spot and offers great upside in his athleticism and ability to play in space. Johnson- who picked up his first set of offers from Arizona, SDSU, and Colorado St. last summer- added offers from UNLV and Washington St. in January.
