Every Friday in March and April, we’ll take an in-depth look at prospects across Oklahoma. Each week, we’ll ask for prospects who want their hudl film to be evaluated by us and in these posts, we’ll have some form of a scouting report on each prospect. Each week we’ll be doing this, so if you’ve reached out and are not listed this week, there’s a good chance you’ll be in next week’s feature. Our inbox was absolutely flooded with film over the last week so we have plenty of prospects to get to throughout March and April. This is also a great way for us to see some of the prospects that we haven’t either seen or in some cases, haven’t heard of yet. We can always be better covering the state and this is a great way to see some new players across Oklahoma.

– Friday Film Review: March 4th
Brytan Gaddy Brytan Gaddy 6'1" | 165 lbs | DB Sulphur | 2024 State OK – 2024 Athlete – Sulphur
One of the more versatile athletes in Oklahoma’s 2024 class is Sulphur’s Brytan Gaddy Brytan Gaddy 6'1" | 165 lbs | DB Sulphur | 2024 State OK . There’s a good reason why we currently have him listed as an athlete and ranked #2 among the state’s athletes in his class. As a sophomore, Gaddy mainly played wide receiver, cornerback and safety. This year, he expects to repeat those positions and also add some running back, quarterback and throw in special teams as a kick returner. On offense, Gaddy has great ball skills and reliable hands. That translates to the defensive side of the ball when he’s playing in the secondary. Gaddy has decisive speed and it’s not a shock when he simply runs by a defender on a go route. One thing that was also impressive about Gaddy is his ability to read the angles on the field. He knows how to get up field and take the best path to making something happen for his team. What Gaddy projects to at the next level is the biggest hang up we’re having with him. His versatility is fantastic at the high school level but that won’t be the case in college. At this point, we like him on offense as a slot receiver.
Chet Green Chet Green 6'2" | 215 lbs | QB NOAH | 2024 State OK – 2024 Quarterback – NOAH
The first of two NOAH prospects in the 2024 class is quarterback Chet Green Chet Green 6'2" | 215 lbs | QB NOAH | 2024 State OK . Homeschoolers are prospects too! While NOAH doesn’t get as much pub as some of the other OSSAA programs, they still produce athletes worth paying attention to. After checking out Green’s film, one thing immediately stood out to us. He can throw the deep ball and he has nice touch on it as well. The arm strength is certainly there and it appears that he has control of it. But as that’s a positive, there’s also a negative that goes along with it. We wanted to see more throws from him that weren’t just go routes or post patterns. We wanted to see how he threw the short routes and intermediate routes. As of right now, he’s signed up to participate in our camp in April so that’ll give us a great chance to see him make a variety of throws, not just the deep balls. In addition to him throwing, he has the ability to tuck the ball and run and show off his athleticism. But he also doesn’t rely on that. He always keeps his eyes down field and also shows the ability to improvise when it’s the only choice he has.
Ezra Ballinger Ezra Ballinger 6'5" | 270 lbs | OL NOAH | 2024 State OK – 2024 Offensive Lineman – NOAH
We go from one NOAH prospect to another with one that will be protecting Chet Green Chet Green 6'2" | 215 lbs | QB NOAH | 2024 State OK over the next few seasons. 2024 offensive lineman Ezra Ballinger Ezra Ballinger 6'5" | 270 lbs | OL NOAH | 2024 State OK has been on our radar since his freshman year. Throwing on his tape from his sophomore season, it was absolutely impressive. Ballinger is a pancake machine. He’s an absolute mauler at the point of attack and you can just tell watching the film that he not only enjoys the physicality of blocking but he searches it out. As the play evolves, Ballinger will run down field and if he’s absolutely smashing defensive lineman, defensive backs have no shot if he gets his hands on them. It’s terrifying to see how well he moves in the open field. There isn’t much not to like about the film for Ballinger. If we had to be picky, we would talk about the level of competition compared to some of the other top OL in the state but that’s not up to Ballinger. We also could see him moving inside to more of an interior position like guard or even center. We’ve seen him terrorize people at left tackle. But how would he look as a guard?
Jailen Toure Jailen Toure 6'1" | 185 lbs | WR Classen SAS | 2023 State OK – 2023 Athlete – Classen SAS
This is what this feature is all about. Before this feature, we didn’t know who Classen 2023 standout Jailen Toure Jailen Toure 6'1" | 185 lbs | WR Classen SAS | 2023 State OK was. Now we do, and we’re impressed. Standing 6’1, the two-way star looks much bigger as a wide receiver prospect. He’s a big play waiting to happen and is incredibly strong after the catch. On the defensive side of the ball, Toure plays a little bit of linebacker and defensive back. And based on the film, it seems like he’s been unleashed within their defense. When he sees the ball, he goes and gets the ball in a hurry. We came away more impressed with his play on offense. We have him listed as an athlete because he does play on both sides of the ball. But based on his film, we can’t help but think that he’s a wide receiver at the next level. And when it comes down to what Toure can improve on, there are just a few things that we can think of based on his film. We would say when it comes to the offensive side of the ball, continuing to run precise routes and working on the different levels of routes throughout the passing game. It’s not much but Toure really does look the part on that side of the ball.
Kaden Barron Kaden Barron 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Ringling | 2023 State OK – 2023 Running Back – Ringling
Just like we said with Toure above, this is why we do this feature. Another prospect that we’ve never really broken down is Ringling 2023 running back Kaden Barron Kaden Barron 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Ringling | 2023 State OK . We saw Barron in person last year during Ringling’s run to the state championship game. But watching him again on film, it’s hard not to be impressed with his overall game. Barron has good size and does what running backs have been told to do from the very beginning. Keep those legs moving. As a junior, there were several instances when defenses had Barron bottled up and then they didn’t. And he was 20 yards downfield on his way for another Ringling touchdown. Barron has speed, he has strength, he can carry the load and also make highlight plays. There isn’t much to critique when you watch his film. The only thing we can say is that this 2023 class is absolutely loaded at the running back position. There are so many good backs throughout the Top 100 overall prospects. Trying to find a way to stand out amongst the bunch will probably be the toughest hurdle for the small school standout.
Kirk Francis Kirk Francis 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Metro Christian | 2023 State OK – 2023 Quarterback – Metro Christian
Metro Christian 2023 quarterback Kirk Francis Kirk Francis 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Metro Christian | 2023 State OK is a top three quarterback in his class and was recently rated as a top 25 overall prospect in our 2023 rankings. There’s plenty of reasons to back that up. The first thing that has always stood out to us about Francis was his presence in the pocket. Watching him navigate through the chaos of a pass rush has always impressed us from the start, even when he was a freshman. The game intelligence is there and we wouldn’t be surprised if Francis has felt like the game has slowed down over the last few years. As if that wasn’t enough, while evading the pass rush, he does a great job keeping his eyes down field, almost manipulating the defense to think he’s going one way before delivering a strike on the other side of the field. And the arm strength is certainly there as he can make just about any pass you ask him to make and from a variety of angles. Watching his film, we think he might be the best pure passer in the 2023 class. But what could limit him is his size when compared to the other two quarterbacks in this class. It shouldn’t limit him at all but we know how colleges feel about quarterbacks and height.
Marek Matheson Marek Matheson 6'2" | 220 lbs | QB Sand Springs | 2023 OK – 2023 Quarterback – Sand Springs
Our third and final quarterback prospect in this week’s film review is perhaps the most intriguing of the bunch. 2023 quarterback Marek Matheson Marek Matheson 6'2" | 220 lbs | QB Sand Springs | 2023 OK is now at Sand Springs after starting for Kiefer. While we suppose things could change between now and September, you would have to think that Matheson will be the guy to replace Ty Pennington Ty Pennington 6'1" | QB Sand Springs | 2022 State OK , one of the more successful quarterbacks in school history. We’re also intrigued how Matheson will handle the move from competing against 2A teams to 6A-2. Facing Booker T Washington’s defense is going to feel a little different than what he’s used to. But when it comes to Matheson on the field, we like what we saw from his junior film. He’s a good athlete when he’s on the run but he always looks to keep the play alive with the pass game. He is certainly not afraid to throw the ball into some tight windows but at the same time, he does a good job of putting it only where his wide receiver can make the play. The window might be his receiver and the sideline, the defensive back has no shot at making a play on the ball. He also maintains his accuracy when he starts moving around and throwing on the run.
Mason Hill Mason Hill 6'1" | 210 lbs | LB Edmond North | 2023 OK – 2023 Linebacker – Edmond North
Our first truly defense-only player is Edmond North 2023 linebacker Mason Hill Mason Hill 6'1" | 210 lbs | LB Edmond North | 2023 OK . The Huskies ran primarily a 3-4 defense and Hill was one of the outside backers in the lineup. With his size and athleticism, that’s a nice spot for him and it seemed to fit him well at what he does. At that position, Hill really excelled in stopping the run and helping the run defense step up in big ways. Hill did a good job of reading the opposing backfield, whether it was the quarterback or the running back, Hill did a good job of reading what they were going to do and made sure to be in the right position to make something happen. When it comes to what Hill can improve on going into this fall, it’s fairly simple on paper but more complicated on the field on Friday nights. With his position at outside linebacker, he has a lot of opportunities where he’s not being touched, we’d like to see more production from Hill during his senior season. He finished with 55 tackles and 3 sacks as a junior. Those numbers are respectable but for him to raise his stock, we need to see those numbers go up.
Tango McCauley Tango McCauley 6'2" | 245 lbs | LB Del City | 2023 State OK – 2023 Linebacker – Del City
While we didn’t know much about Edmond North linebacker Mason Hill Mason Hill 6'1" | 210 lbs | LB Edmond North | 2023 OK , we have known about 2023 linebacker Tango McCauley Tango McCauley 6'2" | 245 lbs | LB Del City | 2023 State OK for a while now. However, what we didn’t know was he’s transferred and will be suiting up for Del City this fall. We were curious how the Eagles would look on defense after losing David Stone to IMG Academy. They’ll miss the big man but the addition of McCauley on that front seven is going to be a tremendous help. At John Marshall, McCauley was an absolute wrecking ball of a defensive lineman and outside linebacker. He was incredibly disruptive and what has stood out to us about his game is just how consistent he’s been during his playing time. He’s going to be very capable of having an instant impact for Del City and their defense this fall. We have him listed here as a linebacker as he’s a prototypical “tweener” prospect. We think his best position for the next level will be linebacker. And because of that, one area that he can improve on is his overall speed and quickness. If he leans into that linebacker position, he’ll be scary down the line.
Tyler Woodson Tyler Woodson 5'10" | 165 lbs | RB Tuttle | 2023 State OK – 2023 Running Back – Tuttle
Tuttle running back Tyler Woodson Tyler Woodson 5'10" | 165 lbs | RB Tuttle | 2023 State OK has been a 2023 prospect on our radar since about halfway thru his sophomore season. When you watch him play, there’s no doubt who he’s playing for as he plays like Tuttle plays. Physical, straight forward and won’t back down from anyone. Woodson is a workhorse back who absolutely wears down defenses. I’m sure if we looked at his stats and broke them down by quarters, most of his production would come after the first quarter. He has an absolutely nasty spin move at the point of attack that allows him to get out of just about any tackle in 1 on 1 situations. In addition to the spin move, he has good lateral quickness, allowing him to juke in and out of traffic. And having said all of that, there is a glaring weakness in Woodson’s game that hopefully can be addressed this season. And that’s his injury history. He missed time as a sophomore and a junior to injury and we hope we don’t see a third consecutive season where he misses significant time due to injury. Kids get hurt, it happens, but we want to see what Woodson can do in a full season.
