Head Coach Deshawn Baker and the Hough Huskies held a commitment day for four of their talented senior football players. I was there to take in the sights and sounds, and I will share the decisions for these four players in this breakdown. We'll also talk about another player for the Huskies who has his own commitment ceremony coming up soon.

Sincere has been with the Huskies since January, and he will be a player who will get a lot of attention in the Huskies secondary with talented teammate Joshua Dobson holding down one of the cornerback spots. Sincere's recruiting really blew up this spring when he picked up offers from West Georgia, Campbell, Charleston Southern, Sacred Heart, Gardner-Webb, North Carolina A&T, and Maine.

Sincere didn't have a lot of theatrics with his announcement, simply unveiling a Campbell shirt underneath what he was wearing and putting on a Campbell hat before the celebration immediately started, which is what you see pictured above. I think this is a great choice - Campbell has been doing a very good job with their in-state recruiting this spring, and they have made some strong connections in the Charlotte area specifically. Sincere is a really athletic player who's physical that will be a great fit in the Hough secondary this season.

The big interior offensive line prospect is also new to the Hough program, but he definitely isn't new to recruiting. Nori has been one of our higher-rated offensive linemen in the 2027 class for a couple of years, and he's had interest all over the board from different schools. After playing at Independence the last few years, White should fill some holes nicely for some talented guys who graduated last season up front for the Huskies. If they play him at guard, expect some big gaps developed by his run blocking up front.

As far as the recruiting commitment, Nori ended up choosing James Madison University, a school where I think he will definitely have the chance to play early and impress coaches both on and off campus. With Nori's massive size at 6'6 and over 320 pounds, with a strong freshman season, he could easily be a candidate to transfer up to a bigger school, if that's one of his long-term goals. As it stands now, he's one of the best offensive linemen in the state set for a big senior year.

Jackson is a player who came on the scene strong last season with his speed, physical play, and vocal leadership in the secondary for the Huskies. His passion rings strong every time that you talk to him, and his coaches speak highly of him and his abilities. He is a safety who does a great job in run support and also shows the skills to play disciplined in both man and zone concepts.

As far as his recruiting story goes, Jackson started to pick up offers last season, and that interest was consistent going through this offseason. Jackson had offers from a double-digit number of schools, most of them in this calendar year. Ultimately, Jackson decided to take his talents to Army, which knowing his personality, really makes perfect sense. I can easily see Jackson becoming a leader there and playing his trademark tough and physical football to make a statement on that team for years to come.

The final commitment of the night came from Ethan, the team's star quarterback and our #1 quarterback in the 2027 class in North Carolina. I have to share that Ethan personally reached out to me with a message to come to the ceremony, and that's something that I've never received in my media role in over 10 years. That tells you how special and different this young man is. His talents on the field are well known - the dual-threat quarterback who brought the Huskies their first state championship. Coach Baker shared a nice story on how Ethan promised he would create history by bringing a championship to Corneilus, and how he reminded everyone of that promise in the state championship game.

Ethan had over 30 offers to play college football, and ultimately took the stage with the largest contingent of family and friends I've ever seen, reflective of all the support behind him and the people he touches. Ethan displayed several hats in front of him, but as he narrowed the choices, he threw the hats to fans and teammates in attendance - something I've never seen before. Ultimately, Ethan emphatically announced that he was going to attend Marshall, and I think that's a great choice. I think Ethan will have a chance to play early and make a real impact for a program that will benefit from his infectious energy and creativity on the field.

Coming up soon in July, [player_tooltip player_id='378926' first='Davion' last='Jones'] will make his final college commitment decision as well. Davion came into the Hough program after starring at West Charlotte over the past 3 years. Davion has narrowed his options down to a final five of the following schools, in no particular order: South Carolina, Georgia, LSU, Auburn, and Indiana. No matter who ends up with him, they will get an incredibly talented and athletic phenom of a player. His range and physicality at the safety position, I think, are unmatched in the state. And then you see the speed and explosiveness on both sides of the ball - I think you could run a little package offensively on the next level, too, if you wanted to. That being said, I'll be excited to see Davion make his choice - he's grown so much from when I saw him as a freshman making big plays in big games on Varsity.
