It's October and that means we're updating all of our rankings across the classes. Two weeks ago, we released our first 2029 watchlist. In the last week, we've updated the 2028 rankings to now feature the top 75 sophomores in Oklahoma! And today, we're continuing our 2028 prospect breakdowns with a look at five versatile athletes who have stood out in one way or another so far this season. We featured another 2028 ATH earlier this week in our Top Newcomer article as well as another standout in our Top Stock Risers article. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more 2028 prospect breakdowns and every week for a new class ranking update!

Rejoice Christian quarterback and defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1328118' first='Kamieon' last='Compton-Nero'] has taken over the top overall spot in the state's 2028 rankings this time around. The Rejoice sophomore came into this season with high expectations and he's certainly lived up to them. He's been an absolute playmaker on the offensive side of the ball every week this season and he's also been incredibly effective on the defensive side of the ball. Now, speaking strictly from a prospect standpoint, all arrows are pointing to him being a defensive back at the next level. We still have him listed as an athlete in this update because of everything he's able to do on the offensive side of the ball. But don't be surprised if he's moved to DB on here in the future.

This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone following Oklahoma high school football right now. Bixby has another potential star coming up. Tight end and defensive end [player_tooltip player_id='1689504' first='Connor' last='Arant'] has had a terrific sophomore season and the really scary thing is Bixby hasn't really needed him. He was a rotational piece early on this season but he's starting to get more playing time and we are very intrigued with his impact on both sides of the ball. In the first few games, Arant was rotating in as a edge rusher on third downs and now he's also getting in and giving the Spartans a huge target at the tight end position. We're not going to say he's the next Luke Hasz because he's actually bigger. But you can see some parallels in their games and the potential here is through the roof.

It's been a tough season for Westmoore but the future could be bright because the Jaguars have a lot of young players playing, going through plenty of growing pains. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='451430' first='Tommalik' last='Benson'] is a player that could be the cornerstone of the Jaguars getting back to winning moving forward. Offensively, Benson is an absolute playmaker at the wide receiver position. Defensively, he's a lockdown cornerback that is getting better and better. We watched Benson multiple times this spring and he tore it up every time. There weren't many players that impressed us more than Benson during that stretch. He's a player and a prospect to watch moving forward. Similar to Compton-Nero, he's an ATH right now but the future could be DB.

Piedmont standout [player_tooltip player_id='1599209' first='Knoxtyn' last='Rallo'] continues to be a very intriguing prospect to watch in the state's 2028 class. He was one of the first prospects in this class to pick up a D1 offer and as his sophomore film gets out there, the list of schools coming after him should grow. Rallo is the latest prospect to come out of Piedmont that does just about everything for the Wildcats. He makes plays on offense, defense and special teams. Special teams in particular, he's had some very fun plays to watch this season. He's versatile, incredibly fast and he's only getting better and better. Rallo has certainly lived up to the hype of being one of the first 2028 prospects with offers and shows no signs of slowing down, literally, he's fast.

Finishing this breakdown with Choctaw's [player_tooltip player_id='1837487' first='Kentrell' last='Gaddis'] II and he's another '28 prospect here that's listed as an ATH but could be moved to DB eventually. We're not ruling out Gaddis being an absolute playmaker on the offensive side of the ball but he's having a very solid season on defense and specifically in the secondary. In fact, we've gotten a chance to see Gaddis going to work in the secondary and there is so much potential there for him to be an absolute dude. And maybe we shouldn't be surprised considering the amount of dudes that have come out of Choctaw recently and specifically in the secondary. Gaddis is a name where the arrow is only pointing up moving forward and we're looking forward to seeing the full body of work this season.
