All across the Charlotte Metro Area & beyond in Week 6, there were big-time defensive performances, and we're going to highlight them here with a bit of commentary tacked on as well for select players. Please make sure you are sharing your performances with me via Twitter/X @pepman704, especially if you are in the Charlotte Metro Area, to be considered for inclusion! We will have this series all year long on Prep Redzone North Carolina, and we will recognize everyone – including linemen! Stats and film will help a TON when being evaluated for inclusion! All right, let's get started.

[player_tooltip player_id='1610634' first='Kenyan' last='White'] - Olympic - Game Winning Touchdown Catch, 12 Tackles, 3 Tackles For Loss, 2 Sacks in win over Central Cabarrus - With offers from East Carolina and Coastal Carolina, Kenyan showed why he's a Division 1 recruit in this one. The highlight play is the touchdown catch he made on offense, but he was a wrecking crew defensively, with good speed and explosion to make plays all over the football field.

Preston Pruitt - Ambassador Christian - 3 Interceptions in victory over Grace Christian - Preston showed some nice range and ball skills from his defensive back position on all three of his interceptions. Ambassador has had a good year 1 so far on the Varsity level, and as a 2027 prospect, Preston still has time to continue growing and getting better.

[player_tooltip player_id='950969' first='Ryan' last='Peterson'] - Hough - Pick 6 in victory over West Mecklenburg - Ryan has shown all season he's a big-time player and high-level recruit, and this play showed his discipline and coverage ability in space. Ryan sat in the middle of the field, read the quarterback's eyes, made the catch on the interception, and easily took it back to the house to help the Huskies win 43-0 over West Mecklenburg.

[player_tooltip player_id='1608319' first='Max' last='Davis'] - Burns - 115 Rushing Yards, 3 Touchdowns, 10 Tackles & Sack in victory over West Lincoln - Max has consistently been a high-level player all year long, and it's mainly because of his ability to produce on both sides of the ball. I put him on defense this week because, facing West Lincoln's heavy run offense, I thought Max did a great job of shedding blocks and getting to the football all game long. Add on Max's impressive rushing and scoring, and you have another great game for this standout junior.

Christopher Wurster - Stuart Cramer - 18 Total Tackles - 8 Solo Tackles - vs. Shelby - The Lenior-Rhyne commit went out and was a tackling machine in a showcase game for his Storm. I have been impressed with Christopher as he has led Stuart Cramer to a great start to the year so far, and has shown there is a new energy and fire behind this team. Very good speed and instincts, along with great tackling form and fundamentals.

[player_tooltip player_id='1858006' first='Dom' last='Baker'] - NW Cabarrus - 7 Tackles, Sack, Offensive Contributions in victory over East Rowan - Freshman!

[player_tooltip player_id='1076281' first='Cameron' last='Melvin'] - Cleveland - 7 Tackles, 6 Tackles For Loss, Sack in victory over South Garner

[player_tooltip player_id='1717339' first='Jason' last='Eaton'] - Mountain Island - 10 Tackles, 4 Tackles For Loss, 3 Sacks in victory over Albemarle - Mountain Island Head Coach Robert Washington called Jason a "sack master" when asked about his performance in this game. Jason dominates at this level and has shown with his pass rush and get off that he deserves some recruiting consideration from college football coaches.

[player_tooltip player_id='1029786' first='Griff' last='Galloway'] - Providence Day - 4 Tackles, 3 Sacks, 3 Tackles For Loss in victory over Cannon School

[player_tooltip player_id='1601648' first='Kalum' last='Stewart'] - West Cabarrus - 8 Tackles, 2 Tackles For Loss, 2 Sacks In Victory over Hickory Ridge - The impressive thing about Kalum is his speed off the edge. He shows the ability to get around bigger and slower offensive tackles to get to the quarterback. The Wolverines have won 2 games in a row, and Kalum's performance has gone a long way in helping turn the season around for West Cabarrus.

Matthew Shields - Butler - 11 Tackles, Sack, Interception in victory over Chambers - In watching film on Matthew, I am impressed with his motor - he doesn't stay blocked on plays in the running game and always finds a way to get to the football. I also like his coverage discipline over the middle of the field - that led directly to an interception where Chambers was trying to hit a seam route. He's a really good player.
