Expert Analysis
Matt DeBary | Prep Redzone Scout
A sleeper running back to know for the Milton Eagles, Atchison was the team’s second leading rusher last season with the potential to have a giant senior season as the Eagle’s possible lead back. As a junior last season the playmaking 5-foot-10 195-pounder ran for an impressive 522 yards and four touchdowns. He ran for 128 yards and one touchdown against Alpharetta while rushing for 126 yards and two touchdowns a couple weeks later against Chattahooche. Atchison also ended the season with a respectable 5.9 yards per carry. He’s one of the top returning running backs in the region and should see plenty of opportunities to carry the ball and make plays as a senior in 2026. Like many others, this promising back will be an easy addition to the next 2027 Prep Redzone rankings.

Atchison was a breakout rusher as a junior and meets D1 size requirements, wearing 195 pounds well. Nickel and dime, elusive runner with excellent foot quickness and COD. Stays squared to the running lane and can dance around contact in the short areas. Runs with good pad-level, can sink his weight. Haven’t seen him open up his stride much yet, but GPS metrics over 20 MPH indicate he can roll. Similar to an older Milton RB TJ Lester, Atchison plays the position well and should get a crack at the D1 level.

An impressive junior running back to know for the mighty Milton Eagles, Atchison Jr is a big-play back who has really shined through the first several weeks of the season. The quick, shifty back runs with authority, balance, and can get tough yards between the tackles. He improved more and more over the first three weeks and dominated during Milton’s game against Alpharetta, rushing for 128 yards and one touchdown. He’s a promising back who should see more opportunities to carry the ball throughout the season. He has good size, plays hard, and still has his best football ahead of him.
