Our 2028 Watch List has been updated for the first time at the high school level with many new faces emerging from this past season. Here are some 2028 ATH prospects you need to know now and for the future.

2028 Cabell Midland ATH [player_tooltip player_id='1225956' first='Carson' last='Christian'] will be right in the mix for the honors of being the top-ranked prospect in the class with a very bright future ahead of him. Christian is a gifted and versatile athlete with very good size who can move around positionally over the next three years. His limited highlights are at running back from his freshman varsity season but has the body type and athleticism to move around to multiple different spots depending on how his body develops over time. Even with limited film, it's obvious that Christian looks and moves differently than most 2028 prospects at this stage of their career, and we're confident he'll be a D1 prospect sooner rather than later.

Another 2028 ATH prospect who showed a ton of potential as a freshman at the best program in the state with Martinsburg is [player_tooltip player_id='1566054' first='Kevin' last='Myers']. Myers also mainly played running back for the Bulldogs and saw rare freshman varsity action for the state champions. Given his body type and potential to grow, an ATH tag is appropriate right now with the potential to slide over to receiver or develop into a DB or LB on defense. Myers' gifted playmaking ability on offense though makes you feel like his future is on that side of the ball. He's another young athlete who just looks and moves differently at this early stage with D1 potential coming in his future.

You can line up 2028 University ATH [player_tooltip player_id='1292038' first='Brody' last='Kehler'] at every skill position on offense, defense, and special teams and he's just going to make plays regardless of which position he's at. Kehler was a Top Performer at both PRZ WV Stock Up Showcase sessions last month and is too versatile of an athlete to label as one position right now. He'll see the bulk of his touches at running back on offense for the Hawks but is a very good receiver in his own right as well which he displayed at last month's camp. Kehler has D1 bloodlines with older brother Brock heading to WVU to wrestle, and Brody is very talented in that sport as well. His future as a football prospect could bring D1 attention in time and will be a household name at University for four years.

2028 Huntington ATH [player_tooltip player_id='1624328' first='Travon' last='Okonkwo'] lined up everywhere for the Highlanders' JV team this season including at QB, RB, and WR. Receiver is likely his future given his size and athleticism but getting the ball in his hands in any way possible is smart coaching. Okonkwo has the size and athleticism to develop into a top prospect in the 2028 class and is another athlete that we'd put an early D1 label on. Even though it was at the JV level, some of the runs Okonkwo ripped off and outracing defenders with angles on him will really open your eyes and make you perk up. He's a long strider and covers ground in a hurry with innate playmaking ability that's natural to him.

A small school prospect that can't be overlooked is 2028 Pendleton County ATH [player_tooltip player_id='951269' first='Colton' last='Roberson']. Some may brush off his freshman season due to being at the Class A level, but Roberson will be a top prospect in the 2028 class for four years. He's too versatile of an athlete to label one position as he started at running back at the beginning of the year before moving to quarterback where he threw for over 2,000 yards and 27 touchdowns. Roberson was a standout at both the WV and VA Stock Up Showcases this off-season as a linebacker which may end up being his best position as a prospect where he totaled 84 tackles and 4 interceptions as a LB/S hybrid this season.

Another 2028 University Hawk ATH to know is [player_tooltip player_id='1624325' first='Nico' last='Maisel'] who shined on their JV team this season. Maisel doubles as a high-level wrestler where he ranks as one of the best in the state in his weight class. He played quarterback, receiver, and defensive back for the Hawks' younger team this season doing some good things at all three positions. Maisel's versatility to change positions mid-game was impressive to see on film without missing a beat and speaks to his athleticism. Ultimately, wrestling may be what his future is as a college prospect, but Maisel's play on the football field shouldn't be overlooked either.

We got a glimpse of Kinsey as a passer at the Stock Up Showcase last month, and he'll continue to improve with more reps and experience over the off-season and throughout next season. His athletic versatility will begin his journey as an ATH on the Watch List for now as we wait for quarterback film next season. As a freshman receiver, Kinsey posted over 500 yards and 8 touchdowns along with 50 tackles on defense as a DB.

2028 Philip Barbour ATH [player_tooltip player_id='1430947' first='Robbie' last='Jones'] had a tremendous freshman campaign for the Colts, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Jones picked off an impressive 7 passes during his first season at the high school level and will likely be the full-time starting quarterback as a sophomore after seeing time there last season. We've only gotten a glimpse of Jones on film with a spattering of highlights from his successful freshman season, but he's going to be a name to know in the 2028 class after a very productive first season.

Receiver or linebacker appears to be his most likely best positions at the varsity level but showcased his athleticism as a run-first quarterback at times too. Measurements for Okafor-Dogan aren't available right now, but he looks long and athletic on film with a frame to continue growing. He's a name to tuck away for later as we wait for him to make his mark at the varsity level but flashed potential as a freshman ATH.

We're still waiting for him of Dinger but got to see him in action at the Stock Up Showcase last month where he did some good things as a receiver.
2028 Williamstown ATH [player_tooltip player_id='1624330' first='Breck' last='Allen'] saw some varsity action as a freshman for the Yellowjackets last season and will likely be a player to know at the perennial small-school power for years to come. Allen will have the opportunity to take over as QB1 as a sophomore after the graduation of [player_tooltip player_id='1015094' first='Lynken' last='Joy'] and did some good things as a defensive back as well on defense. He's undersized right now but looked athletic in the few glimpses we got of him on his Hudl account.
