A lot of quarterbacks to that I watched – this class is a little stronger at the top than last year with Rich Belin Rich Belin 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Cardinal Hayes | 2025 State NY who I have graded out as a prospect with P4 potential but there is a flurry of prospects after Belin who are D1 caliber guys in addition to some high quality D3 prospects who are ranked.
#1 Overall
There is a large gap between QB1 and the rest of the field for good reason.
Belin who will have a busy summer of official visits is one of the most sought after D1 prospects with 20+ offers. His playmaking ability is evident and he has one of the strongest arms in the northeast.
Although a smaller player – this recruitment could play out like former Iona Prep and current Rutgers QB Ajani Sheppard.
Both Belin and Sheppard led their teams to CHSFL State Championships as Juniors and both were highly sought after by FCS and G5 School.
Based off of my film evaluation and seeing Belin throw live multiple times – I think he can play at the P4 level and has film where P4 teams could jump in late in the process.
He has the arm talent and can really push the ball down the field. He also possesses the poise and athleticism to make extremely difficult plays under pressure.

Cycling Through The Top 10
Including Belin – I have seen 8 of the top 10 quarterback prospects in the 2025 class throw and many of them I have seen throw multiple times – in some cases over the course of the past three seasons. Also simple QB talk for this article that will be referenced – also a good description here in the form of a drill
Level 1 Ball – Throws on a direct line to target (+ velocity – Touch)
Level 2 Ball – Throws over the 2nd level of defense under the 3rd level (- velocity + touch)
Level 3 Ball – Deeper throws that have a lot of air under them
Level 10 Ball – When
Rich Belin

The Next 9 (In Order)
Ben Newman Ben Newman 6'2" | 205 lbs | QB East Rochester/Ganada | 2025 State NY – New school did not stop Ben from being one of the top QBs in Rochester this past season – a very talented arm. Ben has some of the better mechanics in this class. His feet, hips, and upper body rotation work well in unison and on film he is able to work in rhythm with consistency in his mechanics. Throws the best level 2 ball in the state.
Tavion Byrd Tavion Byrd 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB University Prep | 2025 State NY – Took a swing on Byrd ranking him last season off just JV tape and it worked out well – an offer from Buffalo and successful Junior season later Byrd is one of the more athletic QBs this year. Will have more success as a designed run QB than an everything breaks down runner but he can make plays with his feet and has really nice touch on his deep ball. He loses some top targets – intrigued to see how he adjusts his game losing two D1 WRs.
Joseph Filardi – The Syracuse Lacrosse commit doubled down and will play on the football team as well in the fall. Just the ability to be able to play two sports at any level of college is special. Filardi had some video game numbers through this season and plays with two WRs who are also notable multi sport athletes but a lot of what makes HHHE run is what Filardi can do. Athleticism to extend and an excellent decision maker Filardi is the best QB on the Island.
Elijah Outlaw Elijah Outlaw 6'2" | 175 lbs | QB West Babylon | 2025 State NY – Outlaw another multi-sport athlete who excels on the diamond has one of the better QB frames near the top of our rankings at 6’3 and he is extremely athletic. Athleticism and Arm Outlaw has it and man would he excel in an RPO based offense at the next level. Love the poise he displays on tape under duress as well.
Bryce Tubin Bryce Tubin 6'2" | 220 lbs | QB Clarence | 2025 State NY – The Clarence signal caller came out of nowhere this season and was one of the most productive QBs in New York. Tubin who runs one of the better spread offenses in New York is extremely accurate when he pushes the ball down the field. His ball placement is special on tape – he can throw far but often is throwing more level 3 balls than anything else. Big frame that is filled out and can impact the game as a runner – think more big QB running style like Jalen Hurts.
Gary Merrill Gary Merrill 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB St. Anthony's | 2025 State NY – Another Lacrosse commit Merrill is headed to North Carolina and he burst onto the scene for a St. Anthony’s team who lost one of the best player in the CHSFL at QB. Merrill the most run-oriented prospect on this list was someone who I actually was very impressed by seeing throw live. Has some zip to his arm and can make throws all over the field – another year under center intrigued to see if his tape this year includes St. Anthony’s pushing the ball more down the field – easier said than done when all your top WRs graduate.
Sherrad Bennard III Sherrad Bennard III 6'0" | 195 lbs | QB Lewis J Bennett | 2025 State NY – The first year QB for Bennett was really solid this year as Bennett. With a trio of playmakers Bernard was consistent with his ability to make quick decisions and get the ball out fast. Bernard III plays with a lot of good YAC guys so his ball placement is important. He shows good accuracy on his level 1 balls and is able to make anticipatory throws before WRs completely are out of their breaks.
Connor Igoe Connor Igoe 6'7" | 220 lbs | QB Poly Prep | 2025 State NY – Out of Poly Prep Igoe already has multiple years of starting experience under his belt and is a prospect that provides major upside. At 6’7 220lbs Igoe – Also a notable NYC basketball player – Has special measurable. Igoe has a very big arm and can generate a lot of velocity on his ball. He makes a couple of the most impressive plays on tape that show off arm strength in this class.
Josiah Patrick Josiah Patrick 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Holy Trinity | 2025 State NY – Patrick was not the original starter at Holy Trinity this season but worked his way into the job and was able to provide some good tape and solid offensive success for a Holy Trinity team that moved up to AAA and had their roster depleted right before the season. A full offseason of work and season starting with a really good WR group should show off what we saw flashes of on tape this past season. A special athlete with good measurables and good arm talent.
Five Names To Watch This Upcoming Season
Walsh is an upside rank here – similar to Byrd last season who was ranked off JV tape Walsh was a backup last season. He has a similar skillset to the guy he is replacing Chritian Pinto who is now at Wagner.
Great JV tape with good 7v7 stuff on twitter and has some quality returners on offense to work with.
Highlights
Hermanns missed a lot of last season with an injury and will transfer Long Island Lutheran for this fall. I saw him throw at a PrepRedzone camp last year and he has great velocity on his ball. Throws a high quality accurate level 1 ball.
Strong arm that hasn’t had a ton of opportunity due to injury but has some solid tape out there to get you excited about what he can do with more explosive offense at LuHi.
Highlights
The Fort Hamilton QB is one of the top returning producers in the PSAL. He is a quick decision make and stands in the pocket with a presence. Did not turn the ball over much at all but would love to see more efficiency from a completion % stand point.
Probably the only 2025 PSAL returning QB that could make a run for a 2,000 yard season.
Highlights
Formerly at Paramus Catholic – Blackwell-Williams has really solid Junior tape at Nyack. A QB who can throw on the run that has tape showcasing a ton of quality level 3 balls.
More efficiency as a passer and a bigger impact in the TD/INT ratio part of his game would make him one of the better D3 prospects this fall.
Highlights
Stupak has some quality games to his resume and throws a really nice ball – stronger performances against the quality teams West Seneca West will improve his stock as a prospect. I Think he is a solid prospect to play at the next level already but more consistency to his game will improve his stock a lot. You also see a lot of level 3 balls and risky throws on tape – Stupak can make plays which plays into his upside.
