Recruiting has been buzzing in West Virginia this year with nearly 20 2025 prospects having already received offers from college programs at the D1 level. We believe there are still plenty more deserving athletes in the Mountain State worthy of D1 looks who have yet to be offered. Here are some unoffered 2025 prospects who need a closer look from colleges heading into their senior seasons.

We've been very high on Lude since our 2025 rankings were overhauled in the summer of 2023, and he's been a consistent Top 15 player since then. It feels like only a matter of time before a D1 program pulls the trigger on Lude's first offer with recent visits to App State and Morehead State and surprising that it hasn't happened yet. Lude is a tremendous athlete for a big man and has the best feet and agility in this offensive line class and some of the best we've seen in recent memory. Size may be the one concern that colleges have for Lude, but he's made strides in that area over the past year and can make up for it. Lude has advanced quickness and footwork that is natural to him with the mean streak and physicality to make him a well-rounded OL prospect. He's bordering on having the length to play OT at the D1 level, but Lude could also develop into a high-level guard in college with the athletic traits that he has if those programs are worried about length.rnrnLude is as technically and fundamentally sound as it comes at the high school level, and we'd recommend D1 programs get in the mix sooner rather than later.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_player":["908110"],"_player_evaluations_1_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"We've had a D1 grade for 2025 Winfield TE [player_tooltip player_id='908110' first='Toby' last='Laughery'] since the winter rankings update after a very strong junior campaign for the Generals. Laughery is a gifted athlete with great size as a high schooler who showed out at our recent Combine event where he earned Top Performer honors as a receiver. He's made visits to various FCS and G5 programs over the past year and it feels like only a matter of time before one of them extends him his first D1 offer. Laughery is equally as talented at outside linebacker which is another position that some colleges may prefer him at and make an offer for. He's just too long and athletic to fall past the D1 level and has an FCS floor in our eyes. Laughery is a natural pass catcher with quality ball skills for a TE prospect who can further develop his route running in a more pass-centric offense. He's shown the ability and willingness in the blocking side of the position too which is an area he'll only improve in as he continues getting bigger and stronger.rnrnif Laughery continues to get himself in front of college coaches this summer, he's sure to have D1 offers before his senior year begins.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_player":["908618"],"_player_evaluations_2_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"There may not be a more underrated prospect in the 2025 class than James Monroe OL [player_tooltip player_id='908618' first='Brady' last='Baker']. Small school players oftentimes fall through the cracks with worries of competition level and lack of a big stage to display their talents, but that's not the case for PRZ WV. We made the decision to rank him as a Top 5 OL in the 2025 class and went out on a limb portraying him as one of the best big men in the state as a small school lineman. Baker's junior tape was just too good to not have him among the state's best and received a D1 grade from us. He's been a regular visitor on D1 college campuses so the interest from those programs at that level is there and should lead to future offers in time. Baker is a two-way lineman for the Mavericks who has been just as productive on the defensive side of the ball during his high school career, but his ceiling as an offensive guard is very high. He's a very strong and physical athlete with a basketball background that aids his athleticism and footwork to develop him into a well-rounded OL prospect.rnrnHis patience should pay off during his senior year or possibly even before it with a reward of D1 opportunities.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["865709"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"We've written about 2025 Spring Mills ATH [player_tooltip player_id='865709' first='Max' last='Anderson'] a lot during his high school career and rightfully so. He's been the catalyst to turning the Cardinals' program around with their eyes set on even bigger things in 2024. Anderson is their QB1 where he's made strides in his development as a passer, but we see him as an ATH prospect with the athletic versatility to play a few other positions at the next level if that's where colleges see him at. His arm talent made a huge jump from his sophomore season to his junior season, and he's put in the work to make himself a serious quarterback prospect as well, especially if he makes a similar jump in his senior year. Anderson has D1 athleticism in our eyes from watching his tape and evaluating him in person at camps and firmly believe he has the talent to play at that level in college. His younger brother 2026 ATH [player_tooltip player_id='894977' first='Xavier' last='Anderson'] just recently picked up his first D1 offer from Morgan State, so the elder Anderson has the family pedigree and athletic background to be worthy of D1 offers.rnrnHe and the Spring Mills program will have plenty of eyes on them this season as we anticipate the Cardinals being one of the best teams in the new Class AAAA with other big-time prospects on the team that should garner extra eyes from colleges in 2024.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_player":["865701"],"_player_evaluations_4_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"2025 Nitro quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='865701' first='Josh' last='Moody'] earned the ever-so-coveted #1 QB ranking in the class from us heading into his senior season and should earn his first D1 offer any day now. Everyone knows about the video game numbers he put up as a junior for the Wildcats in 2023 which has brought a lot of attention to him with heavy anticipation to build on his success from last season for an even bigger and better senior year. Moody has taken visits all over the eastern region to D1 programs ranging from Michigan State to Jacksonville State and everywhere in between with many colleges keeping close tabs on him. Operating out of a spread offense that likes to throw it 30+ times most games, Moody has a ton of tape available for colleges to evaluate and see what his current strengths are and the areas they want to see improved and polished out next season. His strengths far exceed his weaknesses at this stage of his development, and we would be shocked if Moody didn't pick up his first D1 offer before the first game of his senior season.rnrnThis off-season is a tremendous opportunity for him to continue building and taking his game to the next level which will make him a prospect you simply can't pass up. The more times he gets in front of college coaches this summer at camps and visits, the more interest and potential offers will surely be coming his way.","_player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":5,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-6642756859abc"} /-->
