2025 Nitro quarterback Josh Moody Josh Moody 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Nitro | 2025 State WV continued his senior season tear against Shady Spring in the Wildcats’ first playoff win since 2007. moody tossed 2 touchdown passes and added a third on the ground in the 41-7 win over the Tigers. The senior completed 22/32 passes for 324 yards and is approaching 3,500 passing yards and 40 touchdowns this season. More D2 programs need to get involved in his recruitment as our top quarterback prospect in the 2025 class with production and film to back it up.

2025 Nitro QB Josh Moody Josh Moody 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Nitro | 2025 State WV has continued where he left off from a highly successful junior year in 2023 and is still putting up video game numbers as a senior.

While he may be averaging fewer yards and touchdowns per game compared to last year, Moody has been a much more efficient passer as a senior and has raised his completion percentage by 7 to 70% through the first 7 games of the season. He’s thrown for 2,000 yards and 22 touchdowns thus far and is in the running for the House Award as the state’s top quarterback this season. Moody is a polished passer who can spread the ball all over the field and can make all of the throws. Touch and accuracy are the strengths of his game and he’s an underrated athlete who may not show up in the rushing stat sheet but is athletic enough to scramble and escape the pocket to extend plays and could take off and run when needed.

Nitro returns one of the top pure quarterback prospects in the state with Josh Moody Josh Moody 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Nitro | 2025 State WV who had an exclamation junior campaign in his first season for the Wildcats’ program. Moody threw for 3,700 yards and tossed 49 touchdowns in his first season as Nitro’s QB1. He may put up even crazier numbers in 2024 during his highly anticipated senior year as he waits for his recruitment to truly take off. It feels like only a matter of time before bigger colleges get involved for his post high school services as D1 programs likely keeping close tabs on Moody this fall.

Moody should take another step forward this season in year two of a new system while being in the mix for some post-season honors.

2025 Nitro quarterback Josh Moody Josh Moody 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Nitro | 2025 State WV earned the ever-so-coveted #1 QB ranking in the class from us heading into his senior season and should earn his first D1 offer any day now. Everyone knows about the video game numbers he put up as a junior for the Wildcats in 2023 which has brought a lot of attention to him with heavy anticipation to build on his success from last season for an even bigger and better senior year. Moody has taken visits all over the eastern region to D1 programs ranging from Michigan State to Jacksonville State and everywhere in between with many colleges keeping close tabs on him. Operating out of a spread offense that likes to throw it 30+ times most games, Moody has a ton of tape available for colleges to evaluate and see what his current strengths are and the areas they want to see improved and polished out next season. His strengths far exceed his weaknesses at this stage of his development, and we would be shocked if Moody didn’t pick up his first D1 offer before the first game of his senior season.

This off-season is a tremendous opportunity for him to continue building and taking his game to the next level which will make him a prospect you simply can’t pass up. The more times he gets in front of college coaches this summer at camps and visits, the more interest and potential offers will surely be coming his way.

We knew Nitro quarterback Josh Moody Josh Moody 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Nitro | 2025 State WV was talented, but we wanted to see how he handled the jump up in competition after transferring from then Class A Buffalo to Class AA/AAA Nitro before ranking him higher. Well, all he did was lead the state in passing yards and tied for first in passing touchdowns with 3,711 and 49 respectively. His rushing numbers won’t say so, but Moody is also a very good athlete who can take off and run when needed and could be a dual-threat quarterback in other systems. That’s also apparent when he’s operating in the pocket buying time and evading pressure. Moody throws on the run accurately and can make some big-time plays in the pocket when under duress to extend the play. He throws with nice touch at all levels but can put some velocity behind his passes when needed. Moody led the Wildcats to their first playoff berth since 2007 and are primed for a big 2024 season after returning a bulk of their talent. He currently ranks as the #1 quarterback in the 2025 class but will be pushed by several other talented passers who will be gunning for that #1 spot all the way until the final rankings update after next season. I expect him to receive some D1 offers in the future and he could see his state rank climb even higher.
