continued to prove that he is the best defensive lineman in the state in his class this past season. Brown lined up at defensive end where he was very impressive against the run. He does a great job of shedding blocks quickly then using his high motor to get to the ball carrier in a hurry. Once he gets to the ball carrier, he has proven to be a very reliable tackler, recording 66 tackles and 11 tackles for loss in 14 games this season. He has also shown the ability to rush the passer, finishing his junior year with eight sacks. Malachi currently holds multiple Power 4 offers and I expect more to come his way going into his senior year.

has established himself as the top defensive lineman in the state in his class. Brown lines up at defensive end where he is a dominant run stopper. He plays with a ton of physicality, showing the ability to shed blocks with ease on his way to the ball carrier. Once he gets to the ball carrier, he is a very reliable tackler, finishing his sophomore year with 46 tackles and 10 tackles for loss. He has also shown the ability to use a combination of speed and strength to blow by opposing offensive linemen as a pass rusher. Brown finished last season with eight sacks. Malachi currently holds multiple Power 4/Division I offers and I expect that list to continue to grow over the next couple seasons.

slides into the top spot amongst our 2027 defensive linemen in the state after transferring to Corbin from Cabell Midland (West Virginia) this offseason. Brown is a physical defensive lineman who is very tough to block. He has shown the strength to drive straight through offensive linemen and shed blocks in a hurry to get into the backfield. Brown has also shown some quick pass rush moves which he uses to defeat blocks with ease on his way to the quarterback. Malachi currently holds an offer from Eastern Kentucky and I expect more to come his way as he continues to develop.

but he’s impressed on the camp circuit this off-season and looks like a future D1 prospect. In the 6’4 235 range, Brown has the size and athleticism to one day reach that high level of play. Considered a Top 15 prospect by our Prep Hoops WV site, Brown is a natural athlete in any sport with a very high ceiling as a football prospect. He’ll have the potential to climb inside of the Top 5 once we see some game film from him and still debuts as the #1 DL in the class without it.
We’ll be watching Brown closely this season for that film to back up our high acclaim of him and expect him to do some big things over the next three years.
