A solid sophomore season for Bryce Barnes Bryce Barnes 6'2" | 190 lbs | WR East Kentwood | 2027 State MI . At the JV level, Bryce made plenty of plays as an outside receiver. Lots of the time, deep routes showcasing his solid speed. Plays at 0:00 and 0:32 demonstrate this.

Other times (0:18, 0:39, etc) Bryce catches a quick hitch and does his best to work upfield. I will say- Bryce needs to work on his route running. All routes (mostly fades, hitches, ins/dig) need quite a bit of polish. Especially because he’s on a very big roster with a ton of receivers, Bryce will need to earn every varsity snap.

Everyone playing for East Kentwood is on breakout watch. I’m not sure if Bryce will earn a Varsity role this season, but his one clip from legacy is promising. Specifically, Bryce projects pretty well as a physical outside receiver, which is a position that most schools lack. In order for Bryce to earn that Varsity playing time, I’d fully expect him to show vast improvements in route running, release, and contested catch ability. In the very small sample size, Bryce is OK in all of these categories, but has a lot of room to grow.

Bryce is only a sophomore, so with plenty of work, he will be a phenomenal Varsity football player and RANKED on our 2027 rankings.
