Another 2025 defensive line prospect at Bridgeport that you need to know heading into the 2024 season is Bear Metheney Bear Metheney 6'2" | 280 lbs | DL Bridgeport | 2025 State WV . He’s an under-the-radar prospect right now given his limited available film and small social media presence, but flashed a lot of potential last season for the Indians. Metheney will be another two-way lineman in Bridgeport’s always tough and physical linemen group and should make strides in his game as a senior and second year with the program. We took a chance on his high ranking with his limited film and expect him to back it up as a senior this fall. Metheney proved to be a highly physical and strong athlete as a junior on both sides of the ball while having a high motor finishing plays and pursuit to the ball.
If he can get more film posted during his senior year, Metheney should be a D2-level prospect who should earn some opportunities at the next level.

Another defensive lineman with a small sample size of highlights available but flashed a lot of potential is Bridgeport’s Bear Metheney Bear Metheney 6'2" | 280 lbs | DL Bridgeport | 2025 State WV . The 6’2 280 defensive tackle fit in nicely with the Indians’ tough hard-nosed program after coming over from Buckhannon-Upshur this season. Metheney will be a two-way standout on both sides of their line in 2024 and could be considered a DT or OG prospect. For now, he’ll debut in our 2025 rankings as the #10 defensive lineman and a prospect we’ll be watching closely next season for more film to warrant the high praise. He showed enough in his limited highlights where you can see what he can become and should be able to take the next step in his development with another year in the Bridgeport system and program. Metheney is a two-sport athlete who doubles as a thrower on the track & field team and showed quality physical strength on film that will only get stronger over the off-season. I thought he also moved well for his size and played until the whistle while showing a lot of hustle and good pursuit. We’ll get a better gauge of his talent once more film is available, but he’s certainly a prospect to know and watch next season.
