We've got 4 recruits in the 2027 class who are starting to flash and show potential. All 4 of these guys are talented, made an impact in year 1, and should be on the rise in year 2.

[player_tooltip player_id='1180305' first='Mason' last='Oglesby'] - New Palestine - ATH - 6'3" 210lbs

The Dragons have as much young talent as anyone in the state, and Oglesby is another potential key piece for them moving forward and down the road. It's harder to have any more of an impressive frame at that age than he already has. He's thick, and seems like an upperclassman, yet is just getting his feet wet. It was great seeing him get some Varsity action last year. He's played on both sides of the ball, and with the frame he's got, along with his straight-line speed, you can see why they've put him at TE early on. Oglesby has all the tools and traits of a stud TE in the making. He can block at the end of the line, be in the backfield as a FB, and get downfield in the receiving game. Defensively, he's aggressive and can run through blockers. He's able to split blocks as well and create penetration from the interior. He's a bit raw no doubt, but his potential is off the charts. His freshman year saw him put up just 3 catches for 32 yards and 1 TD and then 30 tackles and 1.5 TFLs defensively. Overall, Oglesby had the perfect fall to set him up heading into year 2. He's talented and needs to develop because if he does, he's going to be a menace.

Twitter: @mason_oglesby11

[player_tooltip player_id='1180306' first='Alex' last='Muir'] - Knightstown - RB/LB - 6'0" 205lbs

Wrapping up a freshman year where he was rotated in, Muir showed some good potential. He's a tough hard-nose runner who seems to be fairly well built. He's able to withstand contact at the line, bounce off a defender here and there, and keep dragging them east/west. He doesn't have much wasted movement, has decent vision for a bigger back, and can squeeze through some smaller holes. I think early on he may have been a bit nervous about some big hits, but as the season progressed and he realized that he belonged, you could see his confidence pick up. From the start of the season to the end of the season, Muir was one of the most improved players I've come across. He then had the same progression on the defensive side. He's got good pursuit in the 2nd level and has begun to see things well. He doesn't take false steps or seem to get baited by the play action. It wasn't the biggest year statistically, but with 100 rushing yards and 1 TD with 27 tackles and 2 interceptions defensively, it was a good enough freshman year to be put on the radar. Muir is an impressive young player who has a future on either side of the ball.

Twitter: @30_AKM_

[player_tooltip player_id='755507' first='Aidan' last='Holle'] - Twin Lakes - OL - 6'3" 240lbs

It's pretty easy to see why immediately Holle might be a guy to get familiar with right away, however, that may just be the tip of the iceberg. The build and size is real. He's listed at 6'3" and 240lbs but seems bigger than that. Even his middle school tape seemed like he was playing against younger players. He towers over defensive players and moves fairly well. He's got the prototypical build of your Tackle, but he's potentially nimble enough to keep on the interior. His arms are just about as long as anyone's and he's got massive hands, which tends to make me believe he's not done growing. By the time he graduates, if he's 6'6" I don't think I'd be shocked. It seems like he's just now starting to truly grow into his frame and it's why he's starting to make such an impact. He's good in both passing and running situations for a young recruit as well. Of course, as time goes by mechanics and IQ with come, but for now having solid footwork with his size and keeping the QB upright is what you want to see.

Twitter: @Aidan_Holle

[player_tooltip player_id='1180307' first='Bryor' last='Carmichael'] - Knightstown - QB - 6'4" 190lbs

It was an overall up-and-down year for the young QB, but getting on the field and starting while showing some potential is all you need to do sometimes. Sometimes, just getting on the field, surviving the live bullets while making some plays, and dealing with the lumps is the best way to learn. I do know that Carmichael is also working with MatrixQBs this offseason as well working on the mechanics and small things that go a long way on the field. He's obviously a tall QB who can survey the field easily. He's got a nice over-the-top delivery that keeps the ball out of harm's way from being batted down or tipped into the air. He's got a decent arm and can put nice touch on the ball downfield when he's got a clean pocket. I think heading into year 2, just having those mechanics cleaned up a bit and having a year of the offense under his belt will help him go a long way. His freshman year saw him throw for 667 yards and 6 TDs. With his physical traits, the experience last year, and the current off-season development, I think Carmichael is setting himself up for a big breakout season.

Twitter: @BryorC2

We've got 4 recruits in the 2027 class who are starting to flash and show potential. All 4 of these guys are talented, made an impact in year 1, and should be on the rise in year 2.
