is one of the state’s most underrated players. The 6-foot-5, 210-pound Class of 2027 quarterback looks the part with the frame to get stronger in a college weight program. Carmichael has a big arm with a quick release, good accuracy deep and velocity between the hashes. Very good touch-pass thrower. He recorded 2,629 yards passing with 26 passing touchdowns last year and led 1A ball in yardage. He picked up an offer from Findlay.

This was my first time seeing Carmichael work in person, and it’s hard not to like what you see. He’s got the prototypical frame and can make all the throws. He’s got a big arm that can get deep downfield. His placement and timing were arguably the best of the group by a wide margin, but either way, he was the most consistent and made the most of his day.

Carmichael has a chance to be one of the best young passers in the state. As a sophomore starter, he was 121-for-203 for 2,159 passing yards with 21 touchdowns and just six interceptions. At Sunday night’s camp, the 6-foot-4 signal caller showed accuracy and flashed a strong arm.

Carmichael is a 2-sport stud for Knightstown who could have a future on both the field and the baseball diamond if he wanted it. He’s got a lengthy frame that allows him to see over the line without an issue. He got some work in as a freshman and developed as the season went on. With just under 700 passing yards and 7 TDs on 60% completion, it was a sound freshman year for Carmichael.
