These guys are talented along with college traits that warrant a look by coaches but have yet to see those collegiate offers come their way. That hopefully changes soon!!
Each position will be showcased but we start this series with the “Quarterbacks” ……
QB’s – 2022
(No specific order or ranking established here)
Photo: wilsonpost.com1. Stephen Swoner Stephen Swoner 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Mt.Juliet | 2022 TN (6’2 193) – Mt. Juliet HS
– Swoner has a great blend of size, arm strength and mobility along with the football smarts to be the leader an offense needs. The Golden Bears senior signal caller handles the pocket very well while keeping his eyes downfield. Swoner can make plays with his legs too but prefers to stay in the mix, looking to throw it. The Middle Tennessee prospect has yet to receive his 1st offer but is generating good interest and with continued offseason work, that could change very soon.

2. Dawson Moore (6’0 192) – Farragut HS
– An accurate passer with an edge, Moore is an ultra competitor that can beat a defense in a variety of ways. Moore is more of a pocket passer than dual threat but that doesn’t mean he can’t get you a first down with his legs because he can. The Admirals rising senior sports sound mechanics along with good arm strength, that can still be developed along with a bulldog mentality. It may take a little time before Moore see’s his 1st offer arrive but it will come, sooner than later.

3. Aden Hooper Aden Hooper 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB MTCS | 2022 State TN (6’2 195) – Middle TN Christian School
– If you are looking for a gunslinger with a fearless mentality, Hooper is your guy. The Cougars star quarterback loves playing the game and is always trying to better himself and his game in any way possible. Hooper sports a strong right arm that shows on film his ability to place the ball in tight spaces while doing so with poise, command of his offense. He is also a good athlete as well. Hooper is close to that first offer, he just has to remain patient and keep working, which he will!

4. Garrison Barrett Garrison Barrett 6'4" | 215 lbs | QB Volunteer | 2022 State TN (6’4 215) – Volunteer HS
– Barrett is a big, physical, imposing presence behind center that has the mechanics and arm strength to play college ball on Saturday’s in the Fall. The Falcons signal caller stands tall in the pocket and delivers the football with conviction, a somewhat gunslinger mentality. Barrett isn’t the athlete as some others but can maneuver in the pocket very well. He is more of your old school pocket passer that with more development, can attain those college offers he is working for.

5. Joseph Cummings (6’3 195) – Independence HS
– Cummings might be the most under the radar talent on this list as he has yet to play any significant high school snaps but has shown in off-season training, camps and other events his abilities to play on the next level. A big guy with high football intelligence, Cummings is an accurate passer with a power right arm that has some of the best timing and understanding of routes within the state. He will be playing 7v7 ball this spring, so film will get out there but a big senior year for Cummings will do wonders for his recruitment.

6. Elvis Simpson (6’3 198) – Bolton HS
– The lone representative from West Tennessee on this list, Simpson is an intriguing prospect that sports size, arm talent, athleticism and the upside to develop his game even further. The Wildcats star quarterback moves well in and out of the pocket while being able to make good throws on the run. Simpson also shows the arm strength to deliver the football down the field and place the ball on time with accuracy. Camp season will be big for Simpson. The more eyes that see the West Tennessee product, the better his recruitment will go. (Did not have a Jr season)

7. Colton Shaffer (6’5 215) – Summertown HS
– Shaffer is a talented young man that has yet to receive his 1st offer, which is surprising, especially when you notice his size and then turn on the film. The Eagles star senior quarterback is a massive presence in the pocket that can see and read the defense better than most because of his height and arm strength. Throwing from the left side, Shaffer throws the deep ball very well and can do so with accuracy. He is also a strong leader that gives his all and puts in as much time as possible to keep bettering his craft. Patience is needed but Shaffer will see that first offer come soon.

8. Collin Shannon Collin Shannon 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB Sevier Co. | 2022 State TN (6’1 190) – Sevier Co. HS
– Coming out of the mountains in East Tennessee, Shannon is considered one of the top throwers of his region but has yet to see those offers come through but that hopefully changes soon. Sporting sound mechanics along with solid arm strength, Shannon is a poised guy behind center that doesn’t appear to be rattled when amidst the action. He is also a good athlete, so he can easily tuck it and run if needed. If Shannon can hit the camp season hard, interest for him will grow and those offers will come.

9. Carson Jones (6’2 210) – Maryville HS
– One of the top dual threats we have on this list, Jones is a strong, physical guy that plays for a tradition rich program, so you immediately think leadership and knowing how to win. That’s what Jones brings to the table along with a skill set that fits on the next level as a guy that can run and pass. The Rebels star quarterback shows good arm strength and mechanics but can also hit the big play when he runs. The more Jones continues to learn in the passing game, the more interest and possible offers come his way.

10. Nick Martin (6’4 210) – South Doyle HS
– Martin is a definite under the radar talent that is still developing his craft but has the upside and potential to find himself playing in the college game one day. A tall and lanky guy, Martin has a big frame but moves it well in and out of the pocket. The Cherokees signal caller is also a cerebral guy that commands the offense well and tends to make the right pass at the right time. He must continue adding to his game and improving in multiple areas, especially his athleticism. If Martin can continue to develop, the college game will eventually call his name.
