[player_tooltip player_id='1511450' first='Cash' last='Koertner'] - 2027 Quarterback - Sand Springs

After two long weeks, Sand Springs finally returns to the field Friday night when they go to Bartlesville. Leading the way will be senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1511450' first='Cash' last='Koertner'] and we're fired up to see what the Sandites have drawn up following back to back bye weeks. They are going to come out of the gates swinging following a 1-3 start with all three losses coming to ranked 6A-1 opponents. And this is a match-up that could very well see plenty of fireworks, which could mean a big game is coming for Koertner. Last week, Bartlesville's defense gave up over 70 points. Koertner and the Sandite offense will look to light the Bruins up. He's shown the ability this season to beat defenses with his arm and with his legs at times. With Sand Springs opening up district play this week, there's no doubt that it's important to get out to a strong start on the road Friday night.

[player_tooltip player_id='1735181' first='Chauncey' last='Cravens'] - 2027 Quarterback - Edmond North

We wrote about Edmond North senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1735181' first='Chauncey' last='Cravens'] earlier this week when we named him the "Midseason Offensive Player Of The Year" and we're fired up to see if his second half of the regular season looks like the first half. Cravens has put up monster numbers against 6A-1 competition, week in and week out. But he'll be challenged once again this week when the Huskies go on the road to face Mustang. The challenge is very clear, the Broncos have a very athletic and talented secondary. Cravens is playing with a lot of confidence and overall momentum right now so it's going to be a very fun battle to watch. The Edmond North senior has been playing like one of the best quarterbacks in the state this season and whether it's with his arm or his legs, he's been able to put a lot of pressure on every defense they've faced this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1522515' first='Cole' last='Rolland'] - 2028 Quarterback - Checotah

One of the games we'll be covering Friday night will see Checotah hosting Tahlequah Sequoyah and we cannot wait for this 2A-1 clash. It will also be an opportunity to see junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1522515' first='Cole' last='Rolland'] and there's no doubt that he's been off to a hot start this season. He's leading a Checotah offense that is averaging over 50 points per game and they've lit up the scoreboard every single week. And for Rolland, he's been terrorizing opposing defenses in a variety of ways so far this season. He comes into this week with ten passing touchdowns and ten rushing touchdowns. There's no doubt that Rolland is going to be a major key to what the Wildcats do and this week is a massive test. Is Checotah a serious state championship contender this season? We'll get the answer to that on Friday night and we expect Rolland to lead the way if Checotah gets the win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1696078' first='Gavin' last='Mason'] - 2027 Linebacker - Piedmont

It's the game of the week in Class 6A-2 as Piedmont hosts Choctaw in a match-up that could decide the district championship. Piedmont senior linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1696078' first='Gavin' last='Mason'] will play a major role for the Wildcats and we're fired up to see what he does in this marquee match-up. Piedmont will look to do what they do on offense, which is control the football and march up and down the field. For Piedmont's defense, they'll lean on Mason and the rest of the Wildcat defense to get Choctaw's offense off the field. Forcing three and outs or turnovers will be major wins for Mason and the Piedmont defense. So far this season, Mason has been a critical part of the Piedmont defense and that was to be expected coming into this season. He's one of the more experienced players on the Piedmont roster and is looking to finish off his career by contending for state.

[player_tooltip player_id='2124478' first='Gray' last='Barrett'] - 2029 Tight End/Linebacker - Plainview

Plainview's gauntlet schedule continues this week with a home game against an unbeaten Kingfisher squad. The Indians are looking to bounce back after a tough loss to Mount St. Mary last week and let's face it, in this district, they can't afford too many more district losses. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2124478' first='Gray' last='Barrett'] is turning into a prospect that you need to know about in the 2029 class. He was already on our radar after a really strong freshman campaign, specifically on the defensive side of the ball. But this season, he's turning into a legitimate two-way threat for the Indians. Defensively, he's still that hard-hitting linebacker that seems to always be around the football. But then you add what he does on offense, at the tight end position, and he's emerged as the ultimate safety valve for the Plainview passing game. He'll once again play a big role in their game on Friday night.

[player_tooltip player_id='2250960' first='Kenyan' last='Hill'] - 2027 Running Back/Defensive Back - Sallisaw

In Class 4A, we'll see a match-up of two 5-0 teams as Sallisaw hosts Stilwell on Friday night. For the Black Diamonds, we'll be watching senior running back and defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='2250960' first='Kenyan' last='Hill'] because he's playing with a ton of momentum right now. You saw glimpses of what he could do in this Sallisaw offense last season but he was also sharing carries with a senior running back. This year, he's been the marquee back in this offense and he's also found a way to be impactful on the defensive side of the ball. Looking at Hill's game a couple weeks ago against Broken Bow, you could see him making big plays on both sides of the ball. He was a big reason why they knocked the Savages out of the top spot in Class 4A. He's emerged as one of the better playmakers in Class 4A this season and they'll look to continue their high level play this week against an unbeaten Stilwell squad.

[player_tooltip player_id='1836882' first='Marcellous' last='Tyner'] - 2028 Athlete - Bishop McGuinness

In one of several big match-ups in Class 5A, Bishop McGuinness goes on the road to face Pryor. When we look at this match-up, we look to the Irish defense to see how they slow down Pryor's high-powered offense. Junior Marcellous Tynerwould be one major reason because he's a very impactful and versatile athlete on the defensive side of the ball. Tyner had a breakout sophomore season in 2025 and has continued to make some big plays during his junior season. The thing that we like about Tyner is his versatility. This guy plays all over the field and it seems like his motor is always going. He's one of those defenders that is always around the football and finds a way to make a significant impact. Nobody has been able to slow down Pryor yet but Tyner and the Irish will attempt to do just that to put themselves in the driver's seat for the district championship.

[player_tooltip player_id='1837461' first='Obama' last='Bell'] - 2027 Athlete - Mustang

Mustang senior [player_tooltip player_id='1837461' first='Obama' last='Bell'] has quickly become one of our favorite 2027 prospects that is still on the board for colleges to pick up. It started back in the spring when we first saw him in person and then we saw him in person again against Choctaw and then recently against Bixby. In both of those games, he was absolutely outstanding. Bell is listed as an athlete because that's exactly what he is for the Broncos. They'll line him up in multiple spots on offense and turn around and have him play a few different roles defensively and he can help out in the return game. Bell has had some of his best performances against the toughest competition, which is another reason why we believe he's one of the top available 2027 prospects on the board. The Broncos are hosting Edmond North on Friday night and we expect Bell to have another big performance for Mustang.

[player_tooltip player_id='1727292' first='Preston' last='Scagnetti'] - 2027 Linebacker - Newcastle

Newcastle goes on the road to face Elgin in one of the other massive 5A clashes that could end up deciding the district title. For the Racers, they've won four straight and have played really good football following two tough losses to the defending 5A and 4A champs to start the season. Senior linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1727292' first='Preston' last='Scagnetti'] is a player that we'll be watching as they look to continue their momentum in southwestern Oklahoma. Scagnetti has already set the school's all time tackles record for a career and the hard-hitting linebacker will be very important to slowing down Elgin's run-first offense. The Owls have a couple running backs they've played and the quarterback is getting better and better. Scagnetti's ability to help stop the run and then create havoc in the backfield will be a big key to the Racers going down and handing Elgin their first regular season loss since 2022.

[player_tooltip player_id='1828411' first='Wesley' last='Woody'] - 2028 Running Back/Defensive Back - Bishop Kelley

Bishop Kelley goes on the road to face Coweta in another marquee 5A showdown and the Comets are playing with a lot of momentum after rallying from a 16-point halftime deficit to beat Sapulpa last week. In that game, junior standout [player_tooltip player_id='1828411' first='Wesley' last='Woody'] was pivotal to the Comets coming back and winning the game with a really strong performance on the offensive side of the ball. Woody is a player that we got to watch go to work in person at our May showcase event and he was one of the better two-way prospects in attendance. So it's no surprise that he has come out and had a really strong start to his junior season. But when it comes to this week's match-up, having a big game is going to be critical for Woody. If the Bishop Kelley junior can perform well again, the Comets will be in a position to win this game and take sole possession of the district lead.
