is another signal caller in the state’s 2028 class that has been starting since his freshman season. Rolland was on our radar going into 2025 because we wanted to see how he would handle running this Checotah offense without the best player in the state at wide receiver. The Checotah sophomore passed that test and he expanded the way he can beat defenses. Without that major weapon at wide receiver, Rolland added a running element to his game and was incredibly efficient at it during his sophomore season. Similar to a few other two-year starters on this breakdown, we can’t wait to see what kind of jump Rolland makes for Checotah this fall.

getting him the ball. The Wildcats trusted their freshman signal caller and he delivered, specifically in the playoffs. And because he had the best player in the state, Rolland produced at a high level in 2024. He threw for nearly 2,700 yards and 33 touchdowns. When it comes to quarterbacks going into this season, he’s definitely one that we want to see because like we’ve mentioned, it’s not easy to replace a guy like Thomas. Rolland will need to find chemistry with new playmakers. But we think that this year, he’ll become more of a complete threat at the QB posiiton.

has enjoyed a breakout season leading it through the first five games. Now, it should be noted that it definitely helps having one of the best overall players in the state at the wide receiver position. But you can’t argue with the numbers. Rolland is one of the top 2028 passers in the state so far with over 1,000 yards and 16 touchdowns and only two interceptions. About 70 percent of those yards have gone to that superstar receiver but he’s still a name that we’re keeping track of moving forward.
