OK Recruiting Report – Week 4

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As district play kicked off this week the lead up to those games saw activity across the state with a number of colleges targeting specific high schools with offers to numerous players on the roster, a few players announced their commitment and visit season picked up last weekend with a number of high schools on their bye. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Commitments</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We mentioned last week that Broken Arrow senior quarterback <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/09/ok-recruiting-report-week-3/" data-type="link" data-id="https://prepredzone.com/2026/09/ok-recruiting-report-week-3/">[player_tooltip player_id='1686398' first='Shamar' last='Banner'] was taking an official visit to the University of Tulsa</a>. Well, the former Marshall Thundering Herd commit must have liked what he saw as Banner announced his commitment to the Godlen Hurricane. Banner and the Tigers scored 49 unanswered points versus Norman North Friday night for the win and to stretch their record to 4-0 on the season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Cushing senior defensive end [player_tooltip player_id='1831093' first='Justice' last='Elliott'], a six-foot-three, 210-pound prospect, announced he has verbally committed to Friends University. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Northeastern RiverHawks in Tahlequah are a NCAA Division II Top 25 ranked team that fell in overtime on the road to FCS opponent Northern Colorado. NSU may have lost on the field but they were winners on the recruiting trail earning a number of verbal commitments. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Putnam City senior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1664120' first='Josiah' last='Chester'], a six-foot-two, 190-pound target, announced his verbal commitment to the RiverHawks. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1694441' first='Jacson' last='Webster'], a Carl Albert wide receiver and strong safety, announced his commitment to NSU. On Tuesday, Owens <a href="https://x.com/MaverickOwens/status/2102564599635575069?s=20" data-type="link" data-id="https://x.com/MaverickOwens/status/2102564599635575069?s=20">announced an offer from the UCLA Bruins</a> after a conversation with Bruins defensive backs coach, and former Jenks Trojans and Oklahoma Sooners defensive back, Gabe Lynn. Last Saturday, the Spartans freshman standout at defensive back announced he received an offer while on a visit to Oklahoma State as he witnessed the Cowboys 59-0 win over Murray State. Maverick posted a photo in the locker room alongside the Cowboys' defensive backs coach Julian Wilson, a former OKPreps standout himself who played at Southmoore before a career with the Oklahoma Sooners. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Tulane Green Wave extended a few offers in the State of Oklahoma. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Piedmont wide receiver and safety [player_tooltip player_id='2374517' first='Jeremiah' last='Millhouse'], a 2029 prospect, was one of those players to pick up an offer from the Green Wave. Teammate [player_tooltip player_id='2244459' first='Brody' last='Williams'], another 2029 prospect, is a six-foot-two, 215-pound at linebacker that earned his first offer thanks to Tulane. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sophomore Corbin Cruz, a six-foot-nine, 330-pound lineman for the Choctaw Yellowjackets, earned his first NCAA Division I offer from Tulane.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A fellow Yellowjacket, senior defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1830233' first='Freddie' last='Nash'] announced his first Division II offer from Northwestern Oklahoma State in Alva. Through three games for Choctaw, Nash had 13 tackles and two interceptions. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another Choctaw Yellowjacket [player_tooltip player_id='2176056' first='Landen' last='Dockery'], a senior defensive back, announced an offer from Sterling College. Fellow senior [player_tooltip player_id='1831265' first='Aaron' last='Hale'], an offensive lineman at Choctaw, announced an offer from Midwestern State University his ninth offer. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The offers weren't finished flowing into Choctaw as [player_tooltip player_id='1837487' first='Kentrell' last='Gaddis'] II announced an offer from the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Tulane Green Wave. Through three games KJ has 23 tackles, five tackles for loss, one interception, and one pass breakup. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Berryhill noseguard [player_tooltip player_id='1828174' first='Kasun' last='Horton'] was in our recruiting report last week and added two more offers since that report as Capital University (Division III) in Columbus, Ohio and Lawrence University (Division III) in Appleton, Wisconsin extended his fourth and fifth offers. The class of 2027 lineman has offers from Cornell College, Hendrix College, and Hampden-Sydney College. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Plainview class of 2028 athlete [player_tooltip player_id='1259549' first='Dominique' last='Coursey'] announced he received an offer from the University of North Texas. Coursey holds offers from UConn and Tulsa. Coursey is an athlete who causes issues for opposing defensive coordinators when he lines up at wide receiver and is a terror when lining up at linebacker. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An offer we missed a week or two ago was Bixby freshman tight end and defensive end Max Fugate picked up his first Division I offer thanks to the Memphis Tigers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1701291' first='Jax' last='Wilkerson'], the Carl Albert offensive tackle, added an offer from the Arkansas Razorbacks last week. Add the Woo Pig offer to others including Ohio State, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and others. Jax is one of the top offensive line prospects not only in Oklahoma for the Class of 2029 but across the nation. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bixby senior linebacker and Montana State commit [player_tooltip player_id='1830996' first='Ben' last='Puckett'] announced a pair of FBS offers over the last week as the North Dakota State Bison (Mountain West Conference) and the Toledo Rockets (Mid-American Conference) each extended an offer. Wells picked up an offer from Kansas Wesleyan earlier in the week.
