First 3 Games Senior Offensive Line Film Spotlight

The first three weeks of the season give us a good look at which players are making an early impact and putting themselves on the recruiting radar. For seniors especially, this stretch of film is essential, as college coaches evaluate current-season tape to see how prospects perform against live competition and whether their game translates to the next level. This spotlight takes a closer look at players with film from their first three games that colleges need to check out.    Luke Braham has gotten off to a great start to the season for University and continues to show why he's one of the top offensive linemen in the state. The 2027 OL and Virginia Tech commit has been dominant up front, using his length and athleticism to his advantage and showing a nasty streak as a blocker. Braham is a violent striker with a heavy punch and does a great job sustaining blocks and finishing defenders through the whistle. His combination of physicality, athleticism, and consistency is impressive through the first three games, and he's playing like the top player in the class.      South Charleston has been dominant up front through the first three weeks, and having two D1 prospects on the left side of the line in 2027 OL Elijah Bausley and Morgan Watts make it easier for the Black Eagles. Bausley has been a big reason for their explosive ground game, firing out of his stance and bringing violence to the point of attack. He also shows off his athleticism as a puller and getting out in space with good short-area quickness. He anchors down well in pass protection and has the strength to consistently finish blocks. Bausley has been executing at a high level to start the season and continues to show why he's a top OL prospect in the state.      2027 OL Konnor Mott has been a key senior leader for a rebuilt Morgantown offensive line and has come back strong after missing most of his junior season. Mott brings size and power to the front, consistently showing high physicality to overpower defenders and drive them off the ball. Mott has been impressive as a finisher and in sustaining blocks. His physical style and ability to control defenders at the point of attack have made him a valuable part of Morgantown's start to the season and a player who has stood out through the first three games.      Fairmont Senior is off to a tough 1-2 start, but 2027 OL Tyson White continues to trend upward as both a player and prospect. In my eyes, White is one of the best pass protectors in the state, using his length, wingspan, and athleticism to handle pass rushers off the edge. He has active hands and strong striking ability that can stymie rushers at the line, while his footwork lets him recover when he needs to. He's also done a nice job developing his mean streak and adding power as a run blocker. White has been one of the highest stock risers in the class over the years, and his development is showing early this season.      Noah Hockman has only played two games after Martinsburg's off week, but the 2027 OL has already made a major impact for the Bulldogs in his first season with the program. The 6'4 260 senior made a seamless transition from Jefferson, where he was a multi-year starter, and quickly claimed the starting job at left tackle. Hockman has elevated Martinsburg's line play with his combination of size, athleticism, and experience, giving the Bulldogs another strong presence up front. He's been an important addition to the program and continues to be one of the best OL prospects in the class.      2027 OL Cooper Keener has been another steady presence up front for Fairmont Senior through the first three games. He is continuing to anchor the Polar Bears' offensive line at center and has started at the position for two years now. That experience is showing in the way he's playing this season as a big, physical road grader in the running game who consistently shows good play strength to the point of attack. He's also technically sound in pass protection, doing a good job anchoring and absorbing rushers against nose guards and 1-techs with ease. With two years of starting experience already under his belt, Keener looks like the veteran lineman he should be at this stage and is a must-know prospect for D2 programs.      2027 OL Bryson Washington has earned a starting job as expected this season and has looked the part early on for Morgantown. He waited his turn behind a veteran group last year and is now flourishing at right tackle along the Mohigans' rebuilt offensive line. With Morgantown leaning heavily on the running game to start the year, Washington has been creating great push and displacement as a run blocker. He's a powerful blocker who plays with good technique in his steps and positioning and has consistently executed his assignments at a high level. It's been an impressive start to his senior season, and Washington should see more college attention and plenty of recognition as the fall moves along.      Aiden Estep has been an impactful two-way player for Cabell Midland, but his work along the offensive line makes him a good fit at OL at the next level. The 2027 OL/DL has previously been ranked as a defensive lineman, but he's developed into one of the better offensive linemen in the class and has upside at either position. Estep plays with great leverage and pad level in both pass protection and in the running game. He does a good job striking inside and sustaining blocks through the whistle, showing the physicality and technique needed to be effective up front. Estep has been playing well for a much-improved Knights team and continues to make a strong case for college programs to take a hard look at him.      2027 University OL Jack Gamble has been a welcome addition back to the Hawks' lineup after missing his junior season with an injury, and he's made an immediate impact for the red-hot Hawks. Gamble has taken over at center this season and looks like a natural at the position, bringing good play strength and tenacity to the middle of their front. He plays with a high motor and a mean streak, consistently working through the whistle and looking to finish blocks. He has a strong punch and plays with good leverage that allows him to control defenders and sustaining blocks and finishing reps at a high level. Gamble has been a bulldog up front through the first three weeks and has played a big role in the Hawks' strong start to the season.      Jackson Slack has been an underrated part of South Charleston's dominant start up front, helping the Black Eagles establish themselves as one of the more physical teams in the state. The 2027 OL has been excellent in the ground game as a pulling guard, where his quickness and agility allow him to get into space and finish blocks. Slack's nasty edge and physicality allow him to move defenders at the point of attack and get good displacement. He's consistently doing his job within the scheme and has helped create the running lanes behind a South Charleston rushing attack that has been explosive through the first three weeks.      After spending the past few seasons waiting for his opportunity, 2027 OL Bradley Crowder is making the most of his chance to start as a senior for Herbert Hoover. He has stepped into the lineup at left tackle/guard and has helped the Huskies get off to a 3-0 start, and has been a big part of their early success. Crowder has helped pave the way for one of the state's most productive backs and has played well as a run blocker. The work he's put in to get to this point is showing up on film, and he's elevated his game this season. Crowder is an under-the-radar prospect that small-college programs should look at this fall.      2027 Weir OL Ashton Hans is a new name on my radar this season and has done enough through the first three games to warrant a look from colleges. Weir hasn't gotten the start to the season it wanted, but Hans has been a bright spot up front at the right guard spot. He's still a raw player, but there's a lot to work with from a physical standpoint with his natural strength and 6'1 275 frame. He has the physical traits to develop at the next level and could turn into a productive college lineman in time. Hans is an intriguing under-the-radar prospect for D3 programs to look at this fall.      Coleman Cook has been a steady presence up front for River View through the first two games and has emerged as an under-the-radar name to know in the 2027 class. Cook has made his impact felt as a veteran leader on the offensive line and is setting the tone up front. He plays with a hard-nosed edge and brings a physical mentality to every rep, allowing him to find ways to overcome physical limitations. Cook is another D3-level prospect who deserves a look from college programs.      East Hardy has gotten strong play up front through the first three games, and 2027 OL Connor Henderson has been a big part of that success. He's helped the line control the trenches through three games, creating movement and knocking defenders off the ball. Henderson brings a physical presence to the position and has consistently shown he can move defenders at the point of attack. That physicality has carried over through the first three weeks, making him a dependable veteran presence for an East Hardy team that has played well early this season. Henderson is a D3 prospect to know up front in the 2027 class as the season moves along.      South Charleston has some known names up front, but Hayden Short deserves recognition for the work he's doing at right tackle. The 2027 OL may not get as much attention because of his smaller frame, but his value to the Black Eagles' success is easy to see when watching the film. Short has been a multi-year contributor up front and has much-needed experience during their turnaround season. He's also a strong special teams contributor, showing a high level of effort in coverage and will likely earn looks from colleges as a long snapper prospect. Short is the kind of dependable program player every successful team needs, and his OL play deserves more attention as well.
